Vivo X Fold 6 Turns Battery Anxiety Into Its Biggest Selling Point

Vivo has pushed the X Fold 6 into the premium foldable conversation with one feature that stands out immediately: a 7,000mAh battery. In a market where thinness often comes at the expense of endurance, that figure makes the new book-style foldable hard to ignore.

The device launches in China with pricing that starts at CNY 7,999, while also pairing its large battery with an 8.02-inch inner display and high-end silicon. That combination positions the X Fold 6 as a serious option for buyers who want a foldable without constant battery concerns.

Battery-first positioning

The 7,000mAh battery is the headline feature, but Vivo does not stop there. The phone also supports 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging, giving it a strong case for users who prioritize both longevity and quick top-ups.

That approach directly addresses two of the most common frustrations in the foldable category. Devices like this often trade away endurance for design, but Vivo is clearly trying to move the X Fold 6 in the opposite direction.

Display size without giving up premium polish

The main foldable panel measures 8.02 inches and uses an AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,504 x 2,312 pixels. It is built with Samsung M14 luminescent material and supports a 120Hz refresh rate.

Vivo also gives the inner screen 424 ppi density, 1.07 billion colors, 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and HDR support. The cover display is no less serious, using a 6.51-inch AMOLED panel with a 1,120 x 2,528 resolution and similar feature coverage.

Performance and software

Under the hood, the X Fold 6 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super built on a 3nm process. The octa-core chip includes four efficiency cores at 2.7GHz, three performance cores at 3.5GHz, and a prime core that can reach 4.21GHz.

Graphics duties are handled by the ARM Mali G1-Ultra, while memory options go up to 16GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The phone ships with Android 16 and OriginOS 6 Fold, and it includes a side fingerprint sensor plus face unlock for security.

Zeiss-tuned cameras with 8K video

On the back, Vivo uses a circular camera module with three Zeiss-tuned lenses. The main camera is a 200-megapixel sensor with an f/1.68 aperture and optical image stabilization.

The rear setup also includes a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.05 aperture and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.57 aperture. Vivo says the telephoto unit supports up to 100x digital zoom, and the handset can record video at up to 8K.

For selfies and video calls, the company includes two 20-megapixel front cameras. One sits on the inner display and the other on the cover screen, which adds flexibility depending on whether the phone is folded or open.

Build, durability, and market details

Vivo has also added IP58 and IP59 ratings, giving the foldable added protection against dust and water. That matters in a category where durability remains a major concern for many buyers.

When opened, the X Fold 6 measures 157.16 x 145.66 x 4.40 mm. Folded shut, it measures 157.16 x 74.26 x 9.40 mm and weighs about 228 grams.

Sales in China are scheduled to begin on 1 July through Vivo’s online store. Color options include Blue Hole, Polar Night, and Salt Lake, while the lineup also includes a Black Gold Edition priced at CNY 11,299.

Other variants are priced at CNY 8,999 for 12GB + 512GB, CNY 9,999 for 16GB + 512GB, and CNY 10,999 for 16GB + 1TB. With that spread, Vivo is clearly aiming the X Fold 6 at the upper end of the foldable market while making battery capacity its sharpest point of distinction.
