vivo X Fold6 Pushes Foldables Harder with 200MP Camera and 7,000mAh Battery

vivo has raised the bar for foldable phones with the X Fold6, a model that pairs a 200MP main camera with a 7,000mAh battery. That combination is unusual in this category, where compact design often forces brands to compromise on imaging hardware and endurance.

The battery is one of the device’s clearest talking points because vivo says it is the largest battery currently found in a foldable phone. Even with that capacity, the company still includes 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

Camera hardware built to stand out

The X Fold6 uses a Zeiss-branded 200MP main camera with a Samsung HPB sensor sized at 1/1.4 inches. vivo is also using the same sensor on the telephoto camera of the X300 and X300 Pro, signaling that the setup is meant to deliver more than just a high resolution number.

For other shooting needs, the phone adds a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP telephoto camera based on the LYT602 sensor. The telephoto unit supports 3x optical zoom for medium-range shots.

Users who want even more reach can opt for the ZEISS Teleconverter G2, which extends the focal range up to 200mm. That accessory gives the foldable a more serious photography angle than many rivals in the same class.

Battery gains without giving up practical features

The 7,000mAh Si-C battery marks a 1,000mAh increase over the X Fold5. In a product segment where battery size is often limited by internal space, that jump could matter more than on a standard smartphone.

vivo also improved durability. The X Fold6 carries IP58 and IP59 ratings, offering protection against dust and high-pressure water jets at high temperature.

Those ratings make the device more practical for everyday use, especially in a category where buyers often expect premium design but fewer toughness features. On paper, the X Fold6 tries to remove one of the common worries around foldables.

Large AMOLED displays with high brightness

On the outside, the phone features a 6.5-inch cover display with a 20.3:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. Once unfolded, users get an 8.02-inch main display with a 4:3.7 aspect ratio and the same 120Hz refresh rate.

Both screens use AMOLED panels, and vivo claims they can reach a local peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. That level of brightness should help visibility when the phone is used outdoors.

Performance and software focus on multitasking

Under the hood, vivo uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The hardware points to a clear focus on high-end performance rather than a camera-only pitch.

The X Fold6 runs OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16. vivo also adds a new multitasking feature called Atomic Workbench, which lets users run up to five apps at once in separate windows.

That software approach matches the larger screen format and reinforces the phone’s productivity angle. For foldable users who split their time between work tasks and media use, the multitasking tools may be as relevant as the camera system.

Price and availability in China

In China, the vivo X Fold6 comes in blue, white, and black. The starting price is CNY 7,999 for the 12GB/256GB version.

The top configuration is priced at CNY 11,999 and includes 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. Pre-orders are already open through vivo’s official online store, with first sales scheduled for July 1.

vivo has not yet detailed global availability. Based on its camera, battery, and productivity features, the X Fold6 enters the premium foldable market as one of the more aggressive hardware packages currently announced.
