Vivo has taken a sharper turn in its foldable strategy with the launch of the X Fold 6 in China. The device combines a 7,000mAh battery, a 200MP main camera, and a MediaTek chipset for the first time in a Vivo foldable.
That combination matters because it shifts the focus of the X Fold line beyond thinness alone. Vivo is now pairing a large battery, premium charging support, and a more ambitious camera setup in a category where battery life has often been the weak point.
New hardware direction for Vivo’s foldable line
The X Fold 6 runs on the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, paired with the Vivo V3+ imaging chip, LPDDR5X Ultra RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage. It is also the first Vivo foldable to use a MediaTek processor after previous models relied on Snapdragon chips.
Power is one of the main talking points here. Vivo uses a Blue Ocean 7,000mAh battery built on third-generation solid-state battery technology, which makes it the largest battery fitted to a Vivo foldable so far.
The charging package is equally strong for a flagship foldable. The phone supports 80W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and 5W reverse charging.
The software side is based on OriginOS 6 Fold running on Android 16. Together, the hardware and software place the X Fold 6 in a more productivity-focused position rather than a device built only around design refinements.
Large displays with premium panel features
Inside, Vivo equips the X Fold 6 with an 8.02-inch AMOLED folding display. It offers a 2504 x 2312 resolution, LTPO refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz, Samsung M14 material, peak brightness up to 5,000 nits, 1,920Hz PWM dimming, and UTG glass protection.
The outer display measures 6.51 inches and has a 2528 x 1120 resolution. It also supports LTPO refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz, uses BOE Q11, reaches peak brightness of 5,000 nits, and is protected by second-generation Armour Glass.
Vivo places a 20MP selfie camera on both screens. That gives users front-camera access whether the phone is unfolded or being used in its closed form.
A camera setup built to compete harder
The rear camera system is where Vivo is clearly trying to make a bigger statement. The main sensor is a 200MP Samsung HPB unit with OIS.
It is joined by a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP Sony LYTIA 602 periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto unit also supports VCS and OIS, which strengthens the phone’s long-range shooting credentials.
Vivo also adds support for the Zeiss Teleconverter G2 accessory. That detail suggests the company wants the X Fold 6 to appeal not only to foldable buyers, but also to users who care about mobile photography.
Thin body, strong protection, and broad features
Despite the large battery, Vivo has kept the folded profile relatively slim. Depending on the finish, the device measures between 4.4mm and 4.8mm when unfolded, and between 9.4mm and 9.9mm when folded.
Weight also changes with the body material, ranging from 228 grams to 235 grams. For durability, the phone carries IP58 and IP59 ratings.
The feature set rounds out with Wi‑Fi 7, USB 3.2 Gen 1, NFC, an IR blaster, an X-axis linear motor, stereo speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Prices and configurations in China
Vivo is offering the X Fold 6 in five memory and storage versions. The lineup includes 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB, 16GB+1TB, and a Black Gold Edition with 16GB+1TB.

The available color options are Blue Cave, Salt Lake, Extreme Night, and Black Gold Edition. Vivo has not shared any information about a global release yet, leaving the China launch as the only confirmed market for now.
With its 7,000mAh battery, 200MP main camera, and first MediaTek chipset in a Vivo foldable, the X Fold 6 is positioned as one of the brand’s most decisive upgrades in the segment. It shows that the competition in foldables is now being shaped as much by endurance and imaging as by thin design.
