Nubia has taken a more aggressive step in the gaming phone segment with the arrival of the Nubia Neo 5 Max. The device stands out immediately because it combines a 7.5-inch display with a 7,000 mAh battery, two features that matter most to users who want long sessions and a wide visual field.

The model is aimed not only at mobile gamers but also at users who consume multimedia and juggle multiple apps at once. In a crowded mid-range market, Nubia is positioning the Neo 5 Max as a device that relies on scale, endurance, and gaming-focused extras rather than modest hardware choices.

A larger screen for a broader gaming view

The Neo 5 Max uses a 7.5-inch LCD panel with 1.5K resolution. That size makes it one of the largest smartphones introduced in 2026, especially in the gaming category.

A panel this large gives users more room for gameplay and video playback. Nubia appears to be aiming for an experience that feels closer to a portable entertainment device than an ordinary everyday phone.

Battery endurance is part of the pitch

Inside the device, Nubia relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset. It is paired with a 7,000 mAh battery to support sustained performance and longer usage times.

The combination is clearly directed at users who spend long hours gaming. For that audience, battery capacity becomes a major advantage, especially when the phone is also used for media consumption and multitasking.

Key Hardware Specification Why It Matters
Display 7.5-inch LCD, 1.5K resolution More screen space for games and video
Chipset MediaTek Dimensity 7100 Built for steady everyday and gaming performance
Battery 7,000 mAh Supports longer play and heavier daily use

Gaming features remain intact

As a gaming phone, the Nubia Neo 5 Max still includes capacitive shoulder triggers. The extra controls are designed to improve response and give players faster input during gameplay.

Nubia also offers a dedicated grip accessory. With it, the phone can be used in a style closer to a handheld game console, which adds to the overall sense of immersion.

The phone runs Android 16. Within the Neo 5 family, Nubia also includes gaming features such as AI Game Space, an optimized cooling system, and supporting AI functions on certain variants.

Design aimed at a younger audience

On the design side, Nubia uses a dark green finish with a football-like pattern on the rear panel. The look reinforces the Neo line’s identity as a series aimed at younger users and the mobile gaming community.

That positioning also fits Nubia’s wider role in the market. In Indonesia, the Neo family is part of the company’s effort to strengthen its presence in the gaming smartphone segment.

Indonesia and Southeast Asia remain priority markets

Nubia continues to expand distribution through online channels and official retail outlets. At the same time, the company is maintaining its RedMagic lineup in the premium gaming segment.

Although Nubia is not yet among the top five smartphone vendors in Indonesia, the company sees room for growth in gaming devices, where competition is still less saturated than in the mass market. That strategy sets it apart from larger brands that focus more heavily on mainstream smartphone volumes.

The company has not disclosed the price or official release schedule for the Neo 5 Max in Indonesia. Even so, Nubia has confirmed that the Nubia Neo 5 family will roll out gradually across Southeast Asia during 2026 as one of its priority regions.

The Neo 5 Max launch also follows the introduction of the Nubia Neo 5 series at Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2026. With its large display, massive battery, and preserved gaming features, the device reinforces Nubia’s direction in the mid-range gaming category.
