Zontes is taking a serious swing at the middleweight naked bike class with the 703R 2026, a model that pairs a 699 cc three-cylinder engine with a highly competitive price in China. At 35,800 Yuan, or around Rp94 million, it lands in territory that will force established rivals to pay attention.
The 703R is not just about headline power figures. Zontes has equipped it with a long list of premium components and electronics, giving the bike a spec sheet that looks designed to challenge better-known names such as the Yamaha MT-07.
Streetfighter design with a sharp edge
As the naked version of the 703RR sportbike, the 703R uses a more aggressive streetfighter look. The front end is futuristic, the bodywork is muscular, and the underbelly exhaust reinforces its sporty character.
That visual approach helps the motorcycle stand out immediately. Zontes appears to be aiming for a machine that makes an impression not only through performance, but also through a more distinctive road presence.
Triple-cylinder engine with strong output
At the core of the 703R is an inline three-cylinder 699 cc DOHC engine with liquid and oil cooling. The engine delivers 100.5 hp at 11,200 rpm and 74.5 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm.
Power is sent to the rear wheel through a six-speed manual transmission. Even with that output, fuel consumption is claimed at around 20 km per liter, which adds a practical layer to the bike’s performance focus.
Light chassis and premium running gear
Zontes says the 703R weighs 191 kg in running order, helped by an aluminum frame and aluminum swingarm. For a middleweight naked bike, that figure gives the model a lighter feel on paper than many buyers might expect from a feature-rich package.
The suspension setup also leans toward adjustability. Up front, the bike uses a fully adjustable Marzocchi upside-down fork, while the rear gets an adjustable monoshock for a broader range of setup choices.
Premium tires and braking hardware
Wheel size is set at 17 inches, wrapped in Michelin Power GP2 tires. The front tire measures 120/70, while the rear uses a wider 180/55 setup.
Braking is handled by twin 300 mm front discs and four-piston radial Nissin calipers. That combination gives the 703R the kind of stopping hardware expected from a motorcycle positioned as a serious contender in its class.
Feature list goes well beyond the basics
The electronics package is one of the 703R’s biggest talking points. Zontes has fitted full LED lighting, a 6.75-inch color TFT display with four display themes, riding modes, a two-way quickshifter, smart key access, heated grips, and both USB Type-A and Type-C ports.
It also includes the Zontes Smart App, navigation, ride-by-wire throttle, a 6-axis IMU, traction control, cornering ABS, and standard ABS. A lithium battery is used as well, helping keep overall weight in check compared with a conventional battery.
Built to pressure the middleweight field
The color options are Lafarge Red, Dark Gray-Blue, and Black/Grey, giving the model a restrained but modern appearance. With its combination of power, equipment, and pricing, the 703R is clearly aimed at riders who want more than a basic naked bike.
That formula makes the Zontes 703R 2026 a noteworthy new name in the middleweight category. If its market positioning translates beyond China, it could become a genuine alternative in a class where the Yamaha MT-07 has long been one of the most familiar benchmarks.
