Xiaomi’s Mijia Pro 10kg Washes Differently, and the Cleaning Method Sounds Unusual

Xiaomi has expanded its Mijia Pro lineup with a 10kg washing machine that takes an unusual route to cleaning clothes. The model is now available for pre-sale in China at 2,699 yuan, or about $396.

The biggest talking point is not the capacity itself, but the Super Electrolysis system inside the machine. Xiaomi says it uses diamond-coated electrodes to charge water instantly and raise active oxygen levels by 15 times.

According to Xiaomi, that active oxygen works into fabric fibers to help break down dirt and bacteria without additional chemicals. The company also says the process leaves no residue on clothing.

Stain removal and hygiene claims

Xiaomi says the machine is designed to handle 20 common stain types, including soy sauce, juice, and blood. It also claims the feature can help restore yellowed white clothing while keeping colors from fading too quickly.

For colored garments, Xiaomi compares the protection effect to about 15 color-guard sheets. On the hygiene side, the machine is said to reach a 99.99% sterilization rate on its own, rising to 99.999% when paired with high-temperature steam.

Wash modes, AI, and automatic detergent dosing

The Mijia Washing Machine Pro is also said to deliver a 1.3 wash ratio, above China’s national standard of 1.03. Xiaomi adds an automatic detergent and softener dosing system with ±0.75ml accuracy based on load weight.

One fill is claimed to last about one month. For quick use, the machine offers a 36-minute quick wash mode, a 12-minute express cycle, and special programs for down jackets, wool, and pet hair.

Xiaomi says the pet-hair mode can remove up to 92% of hair. Other features include an AI assistant that learns washing habits over time and an off-peak energy-saving schedule.

Design, remote control, and warranty

The machine comes in a star-silver metallic finish with a mirror-black door. Its design also supports flush or built-in installation, which makes it easier to fit into a modern laundry space.

Remote control is available through the Mi Home app and Xiaomi speakers, while the unit also uses a direct-drive DD motor. Xiaomi says the motor carries a 10-year warranty, and the main unit is covered for 3 years.

The launch follows several similar Xiaomi releases in recent months, including a 12kg version that also uses Super Electrolysis and arrived in January.
