Vivo X Fold 6 is emerging as one of the most closely watched foldable phones ahead of its possible India debut. The latest leak points to an October launch window, along with a premium price tag that would keep it firmly in the ultra-premium segment.
That timing could matter in a big way, because Samsung is expected to bring the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra to market earlier in the same month. If the reports prove accurate, India’s foldable market could see a sharp new round of competition.
October window could reshape the foldable race
According to leaker Sanju Choudhary on X, Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to launch in India in October this year. The claim suggests a later arrival than Vivo’s recent foldable releases, which have followed a faster cadence in the past.
Vivo X Fold 5 arrived in July last year, while Vivo X Fold 3 Pro was introduced in June 2024. Against that background, an October launch would create a noticeably longer gap before Vivo returns to the foldable category in India.
| Model | Launch Timing | Price Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Vivo X Fold 5 | July last year | Rs. 1,49,999 for the 16GB + 512GB variant |
| Vivo X Fold 3 Pro | June 2024 | Not specified |
| Vivo X Fold 6 | October this year, according to the leak | Expected above Rs. 1,05,000 |
Premium pricing remains part of the strategy
Another report says the India price of Vivo X Fold 6 will sit above Rs. 1,05,000. The memory and storage configuration for the Indian market has not been revealed yet.
For context, Vivo X Fold 5 was priced at Rs. 1,49,999 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model. That places the upcoming device squarely in the same high-end category, even before official pricing is announced.
Expected hardware keeps the focus on flagship ambition
If the India version follows the China model, Vivo X Fold 6 may arrive with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super and a 7,000mAh battery. Charging support is tipped to include 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.
Gadgets 360 also reports that the phone could use an 8.02-inch AMOLED main display with a resolution of 2,504 x 2,312 pixels, paired with a 6.51-inch AMOLED cover screen at 1,120 x 2,528 pixels. The device is also said to carry IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance.
| Expected Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Processor | MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super |
| Battery | 7,000mAh |
| Wired Charging | 80W |
| Wireless Charging | 40W |
| Main Display | 8.02-inch AMOLED, 2,504 x 2,312 pixels |
| Cover Display | 6.51-inch AMOLED, 1,120 x 2,528 pixels |
| Protection | IP58 and IP59 |
Zeiss cameras remain a major draw
Camera hardware is expected to be another headline feature. Vivo X Fold 6 is tipped to include a triple rear camera setup tuned by Zeiss, led by a 200MP main camera.
The rear system is said to be completed by a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. On the front, the phone is expected to include two 20MP selfie cameras, reinforcing Vivo’s effort to position the device as more than just a display-focused foldable.
For now, Vivo has not confirmed the India launch or the final configuration. Still, the leak places X Fold 6 in a strong position to become one of the most talked-about foldables in the premium segment if the October timeline holds.
