Existing OnePlus Owners Keep Support as New Devices Exit Europe and North America

OnePlus customers in Europe, the United States, and Canada will continue receiving service for devices they already own, even as the company stops introducing new products in those markets. Software updates, security patches, warranty coverage, customer support, and repairs will remain available under each device’s original commitment.

The decision marks a significant retreat from regions that formed part of OnePlus’ global expansion. For existing owners, however, the immediate concern is not the loss of support but the end of future local product launches.

New Product Launches Will End in Three Markets

OnePlus announced the strategy change through a post on its official Community forum. The company described the decision as difficult and thanked users who helped build the OnePlus community over the years.

Europe, the United States, and Canada will no longer receive new OnePlus product launches. The change does not apply to India, where OnePlus operations are expected to continue as normal.

Region New Product Launches Service and Community Status
Europe Ending Device support continues; European Community and OnePlus Store remain active
United States Ending Device support continues; North American Community will close
Canada Ending Device support continues; North American Community will close

The company’s commitment applies to devices released before the strategic shift was announced. Owners are therefore not expected to lose coverage simply because their region will no longer receive newly launched OnePlus products.

North American Community Has a Closing Date

OnePlus Community’s website and app for North America will close permanently on August 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Members have been asked to save their posts, photos, guides, and other contributions before the deadline.

Once the platform closes, that content will no longer be publicly accessible. OnePlus plans to create a global Discord server to preserve a space for user discussion, although it will not serve as an official customer support channel.

European users face a different community arrangement. The European Community and the OnePlus Store in the region are set to continue operating normally despite the end of new product introductions.

ColorOS Option Planned After ColorOS 17

The regional shift is accompanied by a planned software change for eligible devices. After the official release of ColorOS 17, eligible OnePlus devices will be offered the option to upgrade from OxygenOS to ColorOS.

OnePlus said the move is intended to simplify software development, speed up update distribution, and improve software quality by using shared engineering resources with OPPO. Gizmochina reported that the transition will be optional rather than mandatory.

Users who choose ColorOS will also have an option to return to OxygenOS. OnePlus has not yet specified which software versions or devices will support that return process.

The end of new product launches will reduce OnePlus’ future retail presence in Europe and North America. Existing customers, however, retain the service commitments tied to their current devices while awaiting further details on the ColorOS path.
