A leak suggests Samsung may be preparing the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 for substantially tougher outdoor use, with an IP69K protection rating and an 800mAh battery. The reported combination would move the watch beyond the IP68 rating of the first Galaxy Watch Ultra and could appeal to users who train in demanding conditions.
The details remain unconfirmed, and Samsung has not announced the device. Evan Blass, known as @evleaks, shared the information through his Substack, according to gadget.viva.co.id.
A More Rugged Direction
The reported IP69K rating is the most notable part of the leak because it is associated with protection against extreme dust, high-pressure water jets, and hot steam. That would represent a meaningful change from the IP68 protection listed for the Galaxy Watch Ultra released in 2024.
The new model is also said to retain the Ultra line’s squircle shape and titanium case. Titanium is intended to provide durability while helping keep the device relatively light.
Its case may be 12 percent thinner than the first-generation model. The reduction could address concerns from some users who found the original Galaxy Watch Ultra too thick and heavy for all-day wear.

Battery Claim Raises Multi-Day Possibility
The leak lists an 800mAh battery, said to be around 35 percent larger than the one in the previous Galaxy Watch Ultra. Paired with a more efficient processor, that capacity could support multi-day use even when GPS and sensors are used continuously.
The watch is reportedly powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite, described as a flagship wearable chip. It is said to bring improved power efficiency, faster interface response, and support for on-device AI.
No specific battery-life figure has been provided for workout tracking, GPS navigation, or everyday use. Actual endurance will only be clear after Samsung releases official specifications and independent testing becomes available.
Brighter Screen and Faster Physical Controls
A circular OLED display with up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness is also mentioned in the report. That would be roughly 66 percent brighter than the 3,000-nit screen on the earlier model and could improve visibility in direct sunlight.
Three physical buttons appear on the right side of the case in leaked images. The central Quick Button is said to be programmable for shortcuts such as starting a workout, opening navigation, or placing an emergency call.
Cycling tracking is another reported focus, with metrics including speed, elevation, and cadence. Samsung is also said to include a silicone strap intended for comfort during exercise and more extreme activities.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is reportedly planned for launch on July 22, 2026. If the specifications are accurate, it would enter competition with the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Garmin’s Fenix and Epix ranges in the premium adventure-watch segment.
