Dimensity 7400 Has a Faster Download Claim, but Snapdragon Pulls Ahead in Power

Dimensity 7400 carries one notable advantage over Snapdragon 7s Gen 4: its claimed peak cellular download speed reaches 3.27 Gbps. Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is rated for up to 2.9 Gbps, although it supports both mmWave and sub-6 GHz 5G networks.

That connectivity edge does not translate into a benchmark victory. Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 leads the comparison in Geekbench 6, AnTuTu v11, and the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test.

A Clear Lead in Overall Benchmark Scores

Figures reported by Gizmochina were obtained from the Vivo T5 Pro with Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and the iQOO Z10R with Dimensity 7400. The Qualcomm chipset posted 1,164,871 points in AnTuTu v11, compared with 925,061 points for the MediaTek chip.

The difference is roughly 26 percent, creating a meaningful gap in the combined performance score. Snapdragon also led both the CPU and GPU portions of the AnTuTu test.

Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 achieved 449,979 points in AnTuTu’s CPU test, while Dimensity 7400 reached 340,697 points. Its GPU result was 190,341 points, ahead of the 145,500 points recorded by Dimensity.

The graphics advantage continued in the sustained 3DMark stress test. Snapdragon produced an average of 6.64 fps, while Dimensity delivered 5.09 fps under the same workload.

Newer CPU Cores Help Explain the Result

Both platforms are built on TSMC’s 4nm process and use eight CPU cores. Their core layouts, however, are substantially different.

Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 uses a 1+3+4 arrangement with one Cortex-A720 core at 2.7 GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 2.4 GHz, and four Cortex-A520 cores at 1.8 GHz. Dimensity 7400 uses four Cortex-A78 cores at 2.6 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz in a 4+4 configuration.

The newer CPU generation in Snapdragon is consistent with its lead in single-core and multi-core testing. On the graphics side, Qualcomm uses the Adreno 810 with Snapdragon Elite Gaming, while MediaTek uses the Mali-G615 MC2 with HyperEngine Gaming Technology.

Camera and Memory Capabilities Remain Competitive

Both chipsets support a single camera sensor up to 200MP and 4K video recording at 30 fps. They also support LPDDR5 memory up to 3.2 GHz, UFS 2.2 and UFS 3.1 storage, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4.

Qualcomm’s Spectra Triple ISP can handle three camera sensor streams simultaneously. MediaTek’s Imagiq 950 ISP supports Google Ultra HDR, hardware-based MCNR noise reduction, fast image processing, and zero-shutter-lag capture.

Each chip also includes dedicated on-device AI processing hardware. Snapdragon uses the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, while Dimensity 7400 includes the MediaTek NPU 655 for AI and camera-related workloads.

For users prioritizing CPU strength, sustained graphics performance, and three-camera processing, Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 has the stronger benchmark case. Dimensity 7400 remains a capable option for everyday tasks and moderate gaming, particularly for buyers who value its higher peak mobile download claim.
