Oppo recently expanded its global lineup with the official launch of the Reno 15 and Reno 15F models. These devices target users who seek a balanced performance, capable cameras, and extended battery life. They offer diverse configurations at more accessible price points compared to the Reno 15 Pro variant.
Both models showcase AMOLED displays with full HD+ resolution. The Reno 15 features a 6.59-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Reno 15F sports a slightly smaller 6.57-inch AMOLED panel with similar visual qualities. Both run on ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 and come equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor for secure and convenient access.
Performance and Memory Specifications
The key difference lies in their processor and memory setup. Reno 15 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, coupled with high-performance LPDDR5x RAM. It offers two configurations: 12GB RAM with either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Meanwhile, the Reno 15F runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor and uses LPDDR4x RAM. It provides more memory options:
- 8GB + 128GB
- 8GB + 256GB
- 12GB + 256GB
- 12GB + 512GB
Both phones utilize UFS 3.1 storage, ensuring fast data transfer and app loading speeds.
Camera Systems
The camera setups emphasize versatility and quality. Reno 15 integrates a triple camera system including a 50MP main sensor with autofocus and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP periscope telephoto lens supporting 3.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus. This setup aims to handle a variety of photography scenarios from detailed close-ups to expansive landscapes.
Reno 15F offers a simpler but still capable triple camera array: a 50MP main camera with autofocus and OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. Both models feature a 50MP front-facing camera with autofocus, enhancing selfie quality and video calls.
Battery Life and Connectivity
Both smartphones are equipped with a substantial 6,500mAh battery, supporting 80W wired fast charging. This allows users significant usage time and quick recharge to minimize downtime. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C, dual SIM slots, and dual stereo speakers for immersive multimedia experiences.
Market Positioning and Pricing
The Reno 15 is essentially the international version of the China-exclusive Reno 15c. Oppo confirms this rebranding strategy to reach global markets more effectively. Meanwhile, the Reno 15F 5G is a new model designed specifically for international consumers.
Pricing for the Reno 15 starts at approximately $575 for the 12GB/256GB version. The premium 12GB/512GB variant is priced around $640. It is available in Aurora White and Sky Blue colors. Oppo has not yet disclosed official pricing for the Reno 15F, which will come in Afterglow Pink, Twilight Blue, and Aurora Blue.
This new pair aims to cater to users who want a well-rounded device with reliable performance, extensive battery endurance, and competent photography capabilities without opting for the more expensive Pro models. Oppo’s focus on balancing power and battery life within a mid-range segment underlines its continuous effort to satisfy varying consumer needs globally.
