Xiaomi is preparing a major laptop push in China, and the spotlight is now on the Book Pro 14 line built around Intel’s Panther Lake platform. The company has positioned the new machine as a premium portable PC, with the top configuration using Intel Core Ultra X7 358H.
The move also signals a wider strategy, because Xiaomi is expected to bring the same platform to a more affordable Redmi Book Pro 2026 series. That product family is likely to keep the performance focus while targeting buyers who want a lower price than the premium Xiaomi-branded model.
What Xiaomi has revealed so far
Xiaomi first updated the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 in early 2026 for the China market. The laptop became the company’s first device to adopt Intel’s newest Panther Lake architecture, which is designed to improve performance and efficiency in thin-and-light notebooks.
The premium model uses the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H at the top of the range. Xiaomi has not disclosed every hardware detail, but the company clearly wants to place the device in the upper tier of the Windows laptop market.
Redmi Book Pro 2026 aims for a broader audience
Xiaomi’s next step is the Redmi Book Pro 2026 lineup, which should inherit much of the same platform identity. The company described the Redmi series as a more affordable option, while still offering modern processors and large batteries.
That approach fits Xiaomi’s usual playbook. The brand often brings features from its flagship products into Redmi devices later, then sells them at a more competitive price point.
Two screen sizes, same performance direction
Xiaomi confirmed that the new Redmi Book Pro series will come in 14-inch and 16-inch versions. Both models are expected to support Intel Core Ultra X7 358H at the high end, although Xiaomi may also offer lower-tier configurations.
- 14-inch model
- 16-inch model
- Up to Intel Core Ultra X7 358H
- Focus on compact design and large battery capacity
The company has not shared detailed thickness or weight figures yet, but it says the laptops are designed to stay slim while still carrying unusually large batteries.
Battery capacity is a key selling point
The battery specs may become one of the most important parts of the Redmi Book Pro 2026 story. Xiaomi confirmed a 99 Wh battery for the 16-inch version, which sits close to the practical limit for airline-friendly laptop batteries.
The 14-inch version will include a 92 Wh battery, which is larger than the battery in the recently launched Xiaomi Book Pro 14. Xiaomi says that the smaller Panther Lake model can play local video for up to 37 hours on a single charge.
The company also plans 90 W fast charging for the 14-inch model. Xiaomi has not yet said whether the 16-inch version will support the same charging speed or something higher.
How it compares with the premium Xiaomi Book Pro 14
The Redmi model appears designed to mirror the premium model’s core strengths without matching its price. That matters because the current Xiaomi Book Pro 14 with the Core Ultra 5 338H is already listed at around $1,658.20 on TradingShenzhen.
By contrast, the Redmi Book Pro 2026 should land lower in the market and compete more directly with mainstream premium laptops. Xiaomi seems to be aiming at buyers who want Intel’s latest platform, long battery life, and a cleaner design, but do not want to pay flagship pricing.
Why Panther Lake matters
Panther Lake is Intel’s newest notebook architecture, and Xiaomi’s early adoption gives the company a fresh marketing edge. The platform is expected to combine stronger CPU performance with improved efficiency, which is especially important in laptops that aim for both portability and long battery life.
For Xiaomi, the timing is also important. The company can promote the new Book Pro and Redmi Book Pro lines as part of its broader hardware ecosystem, especially as consumers continue to compare Windows laptops with Apple’s MacBook lineup.
Expected market position
Xiaomi is openly framing the Redmi Book Pro 2026 as a rival to the Apple MacBook Pro M5, but at a friendlier price. The company is also preparing an entry-level configuration with the Core Ultra 5 325, which may attract users in the upper-midrange laptop segment.
That lower-spec option could also become Xiaomi’s answer to the MacBook Neo, depending on how the company prices the lineup when sales begin. If Xiaomi keeps battery life strong and pricing aggressive, the series could appeal to students, creators, and office users who want a high-end feel without a premium badge.
Launch timing
Xiaomi has not provided a precise release date for the Redmi Book Pro 2026. The company has said only that the laptop line will debut alongside the Redmi K90 Max, with both products expected to launch in China at the end of April 2026.
Until then, the most important takeaway is clear: Xiaomi is using the Book Pro 14 and the upcoming Redmi Book Pro 2026 line to push Intel Panther Lake into more visible consumer devices, with large batteries, fast charging, and multiple size options built into the plan.
