Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 Series Lands In Indonesia, A Smart Escape From City Gridlock

Xiaomi has introduced the Electric Scooter 6 Series in Indonesia, targeting urban commuters who need a faster and more practical way to move through daily traffic. The lineup arrives as congestion, short-distance trips, and multi-modal commuting continue to shape how people travel in major cities.

The new range consists of the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 and Electric Scooter 6 Lite, both positioned as smart mobility options for short urban routes. Xiaomi says the series reflects its “Live Right, Live Smart” approach, with a focus on efficient travel and a lower-impact alternative for city movement.

A response to daily city congestion

Urban mobility has become increasingly fragmented, especially where daily travel often involves covering only a few kilometers but spending much longer in traffic. In this context, electric scooters have become more relevant because they can shorten commuting time without relying fully on cars or larger motorcycles.

Xiaomi says the Electric Scooter 6 Series is designed to connect riders from home to bus stops, train stations, offices, or other transit hubs. That makes it especially useful for first-mile and last-mile travel, where flexibility often matters more than top speed.

What the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 offers

The standard Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 comes with a 400W motor and a peak output of up to 800W. According to Xiaomi, that setup helps the scooter handle slopes of up to 18 percent, which can be useful for parking ramps and uneven urban roads.

Comfort is another focus of the model. Xiaomi equips it with 12-inch tubeless tires and a Dual-Spring Suspension system, which should help reduce bumps from potholes, paving stones, and rough road patches.

The scooter also uses a 360Wh battery that is claimed to deliver up to 45 km of range on a single charge. For safety and durability, Xiaomi says the model carries EN17128 certification and IPX5 water resistance.

Why the Lite version may appeal to commuters

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 Lite is aimed at users who prioritize portability and easier handling. It can be folded in just three steps, which makes it more convenient for passengers using MRT or LRT systems and for those who need to store it in compact spaces.

At 18 kg, the Lite variant remains relatively manageable for city riders who regularly switch between different modes of transport. It also includes Kinetic Energy Recovery System, or KERS, which recovers energy during braking and helps support battery efficiency in stop-and-go traffic.

Digital controls through Xiaomi Home

Xiaomi has connected the series with the Xiaomi Home app, giving users access to several ride-related functions. Through the app, riders can check speed, remaining range, ride history, motor lock status, tire pressure, and battery information in real time.

This level of integration adds more practicality to the scooters, especially for users who depend on their vehicles every day. Regular monitoring can help riders maintain control over battery condition and bike readiness before commuting.
