Huawei is lining up two new wearables for release on Monday, 20 April, with the Watch Fit 5 and Watch Buds 2 set to take the spotlight. The launch signals that smartwatches remain a core part of Huawei’s product strategy, while the company pushes harder on display quality, premium materials, and richer health tracking.
The timing also comes as Huawei links the wearable push with its Pura flagship phone series, which is also getting design and display upgrades. That broader product message suggests Huawei wants its next devices to be seen as part of a more refined hardware ecosystem, not as isolated updates.
Watch Fit 5 Pro leads the lineup
Among the new models, the Watch Fit 5 Pro appears to be the most ambitious. Reports from WinFuture.de note that it uses a 1.92-inch flexible LTPO OLED display, with peak brightness reaching 3,500 nits.
That level of brightness should make the screen easier to read in strong outdoor light. The same report says the Pro model uses titanium and weighs 31.6 grams, giving it a more premium build than a typical fitness-focused smartwatch.
Huawei Central, citing DigitalChatStation, also says the Watch Fit 5 Pro has an 83 percent screen-to-body ratio. The figure is backed by an ultra-thin 1.8 mm bezel, which is intended to reduce the black border that has been more noticeable on earlier generations.
Standard Watch Fit 5 keeps the range accessible
The regular Watch Fit 5 takes a slightly simpler route, but it still brings meaningful upgrades. It reportedly uses a 1.82-inch AMOLED panel with a peak brightness of 2,500 nits, which still places it among the brighter options in its class.
Huawei also uses recycled aluminum for the body of the standard model. That choice helps keep the watch lighter while still preserving a modern look, which may appeal to users who want a less bulky device for daily wear.
Battery life is another shared highlight across the series. Android Headlines reports that both Watch Fit 5 models carry a 471mAh battery, with claimed endurance of up to 10 days.
Watch Buds 2 keeps the hybrid idea alive
Huawei is also preparing the Watch Buds 2, which continues the company’s 2-in-1 concept. The earbuds are stored inside the watch casing itself, allowing the device to work both as a smartwatch and as a charging case for the earbuds.
The design is described as featuring a brown leather strap and a metal frame, which gives it a more premium appearance. Huawei also allows the earbuds to be swapped between left and right positions, a detail that should make everyday use more practical.
Health and sports tracking remain central
Across the Watch Fit 5 and Watch Buds 2 lineup, Huawei is said to rely on its TruSense health platform. The system includes a heart rate sensor, body temperature tracking, and a barometer to support both activity monitoring and general health measurement.
For the Watch Buds 2 specifically, Huawei is expected to support more than 80 sports modes. The device is also said to improve sound quality through AI noise cancellation, which should help when the earbuds are used in different environments.
Expected pricing in global markets
Pricing details suggest Huawei is aiming for a broad appeal across the lineup. According to GSM Arena, the standard Watch Fit 5 is expected to start at 199 Euro, while the Pro version is said to be positioned at 299 Euro for global markets.
With brighter screens, thinner bezels, premium materials, and more complete health features, the Watch Fit 5 series marks a noticeable step up for Huawei’s wearable business. The Watch Buds 2 adds a more unusual hybrid concept to that mix, and both devices now await their 20 April debut alongside the wider Huawei product push.
