Leaks surrounding Huawei’s Pura 90 series suggest that the company is preparing a sharply tiered lineup rather than a uniform family of devices. The most attention-grabbing detail remains the Pura 90 Pro Max, which is tipped to stand out with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
The reported range is expected to arrive in China with multiple models, including the Pura 90, Pura 90 Pro, Pura 90 Pro Max, and the foldable Pura X Max. Among them, the standard, Pro, and Pro Max variants have drawn the most detailed leaks so far, especially around display size, battery capacity, body dimensions, and camera hardware.
Different sizes, different priorities
Tipster Bald Panda, as cited in the source material, says the standard Huawei Pura 90 will use a 6.84-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution. It is also said to carry a 6,500mAh battery, while keeping a relatively slim 6.9 mm chassis and a weight of around 203 grams.
The Pura 90 Pro appears to go in a different direction. It is reportedly fitted with a slightly smaller 6.59-inch flat screen at the same 1.5K resolution, paired with a 6,000mAh battery. Compared with the base model, the Pro is described as thicker at 8.3 mm and heavier at 219 grams.
At the top of the trio, the Pura 90 Pro Max is said to feature a 6.87-inch 1.5K display and a 6,000mAh battery as well. Its body is expected to be the largest of the three, measuring 8.5 mm thick and weighing about 232 grams.
Camera setup looks like the main battleground
If the leaks prove accurate, the camera system will be the clearest dividing line within the series. Digital Chat Station has indicated that the Pro and Pro Max versions will receive meaningful upgrades across the main, ultra-wide, and telephoto sections.
The Pura 90 Pro is said to use a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor. That setup would be joined by a 40MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, along with a multispectral sensor intended to improve color reproduction and image accuracy.
The Pro Max reportedly keeps the main and ultra-wide cameras close to the Pro model, but changes the telephoto unit in a major way. Instead of the Pro’s 50MP periscope camera, the Pro Max is tipped to adopt a 200MP periscope telephoto lens, making long-range zoom its defining feature.
What else the Pro models may include
Beyond camera hardware, the Pro and Pro Max are also said to be powered by a new chipset from Huawei’s “9” series. The source does not specify the chip name, so performance expectations remain unclear for now.
Both premium variants are also rumored to carry IP68 certification. In practical terms, that would suggest strong resistance against dust and water, although the exact level of protection will still depend on Huawei’s official announcement.
Another feature mentioned in the leak is 2D face recognition for the Pro and Pro Max. The same reports also point back to the 6,000mAh battery figure for both models, reinforcing the idea that Huawei is balancing premium features with substantial endurance.
A lineup built around clear separation
Taken together, the leaks show Huawei using a deliberate segmentation strategy for the Pura 90 family. The standard model is set up to appeal with the largest battery and a thinner body, while the Pro and Pro Max appear aimed at users who want more advanced imaging hardware and a fuller premium package.
The most striking upgrade remains the Pura 90 Pro Max’s 200MP periscope camera, which could make it the most distinctive model in the lineup if the current leaks hold true. For now, the reported specifications point to a series where each version serves a different role instead of offering only minor cosmetic changes.
