Redmi has expanded its entry-level lineup in India with two new models aimed at buyers who want practical hardware without a high price tag. The Redmi A7 Pro 4G and Redmi A7 4G focus on the basics that matter most in daily use: a large screen, a big battery, and a simple feature set.
The two phones are positioned closely in price, but they are not identical. Redmi A7 Pro 4G starts at Rs 11499, while Redmi A7 4G begins at Rs 10499, giving shoppers a modest gap to decide whether extra memory and newer software are worth the higher cost.
Display focused on size and smoothness
Both devices use large LCD panels designed for everyday entertainment and routine navigation. Redmi A7 Pro 4G comes with a 6.9-inch display, while Redmi A7 4G uses a slightly smaller 6.88-inch panel, and both support a 120Hz refresh rate.
That higher refresh rate should make scrolling and menu movement feel smoother than on standard 60Hz screens. Xiaomi also lists peak brightness at 800 nits, which helps the display remain visible across different lighting conditions.
A hole-punch design sits on the front of both phones, keeping the selfie camera compact and leaving more space for the screen. The overall layout follows the familiar approach commonly seen in affordable smartphones today.
Hardware stays simple, but practical
Under the hood, both handsets run on the Unisoc T7250 chipset. The main difference is memory, since Redmi A7 Pro 4G is equipped with 4GB of RAM, while Redmi A7 4G comes with 3GB.
Storage stays the same on both models at 64GB, and both support microSD expansion of up to 2TB. That combination is aimed at users who mainly rely on the phone for messaging, social apps, light streaming, and basic file storage.
Battery capacity is the headline feature
Battery life is one of the strongest points of the Redmi A7 series. Both phones carry a 6300mAh battery, which gives the lineup a clear selling point in the budget segment.
Charging support is rated at 15W, and both devices also include reverse wired charging. That extra function adds some flexibility, allowing the phone to assist in topping up accessories or other devices when needed.
Cameras keep things straightforward
The imaging setup is intentionally simple. On the back, both the Redmi A7 Pro 4G and Redmi A7 4G use a 13MP camera paired with an LED flash.
At the front, Xiaomi has fitted an 8MP selfie camera for self-portraits and video calls. The camera package is clearly built for everyday use rather than advanced photography features.
Software and connectivity differ slightly
Software is one of the clearest separation points between the two models. Redmi A7 Pro 4G ships with Android 16 and HyperOS 3, while Redmi A7 4G runs Android 15 with HyperOS 2.
Connectivity options are shared across both devices and include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and USB Type-C. Xiaomi has also given the two models an IP52 rating, which offers protection from dust and light water splashes.
Color options are split as well. Redmi A7 Pro 4G is available in Black and Sky Sunset Orange, while Redmi A7 4G comes in Black and Sky Blue.
The pair will go on sale through online and retail channels starting 23 April. With their 120Hz screens, 6300mAh batteries, IP52 rating, and pricing that begins at Rs 10499, the Redmi A7 Pro 4G and Redmi A7 4G are set to appeal to buyers looking for a straightforward budget phone with everyday durability.
