That change seems to influence the phone’s overall thickness, suggesting Sony may be prioritizing internal space for upgraded imaging hardware rather than pursuing a dramatic visual overhaul.
A familiar Xperia shape, only adjusted
The leaked dimensions place the Xperia 1 VIII at 161.9 x 74.4 x 8.58 mm. Those numbers indicate a phone that remains tall and slim, which has long been part of the Xperia 1 design language.
At the same time, the body is said to be slightly larger than its predecessor, but not by a wide margin. The overall impression is that Sony is keeping the exterior conservative, with updates focused on precision rather than reinvention.
