OnePlus is preparing a new mid-range device that appears aimed squarely at users who want strong all-round performance without sacrificing battery life. The Nord CE 6 is set to launch in India on 7 May, and its main appeal comes from a combination of gaming-focused hardware, a large battery, and a cooling setup built for sustained use.
The phone is positioned as more than a typical daily driver. OnePlus is framing the Nord CE 6 as a device that can handle routine tasks comfortably while still pushing harder during gaming sessions and other demanding workloads.
Gaming-first performance
At the center of the Nord CE 6 is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, a mid-range chipset that OnePlus is using as the foundation for a faster and more efficient user experience. The company is also adding a dedicated Touch Reflex chip to improve screen response, with the goal of making touch input feel more immediate and precise.
OnePlus says the phone can run some games at up to 144fps. It also claims a touch sampling rate of 3200Hz, which underlines the emphasis on quick screen reactions for players who want tighter control.
Large display with a high refresh rate
The Nord CE 6 carries a 6.78-inch panel with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. That combination should make everyday navigation feel smoother, from scrolling through social feeds to moving across menus and switching between apps.
For gaming, the higher refresh rate becomes even more relevant on titles that support elevated frame rates. Motion should appear more fluid, and the display may deliver a more premium feel for general media use as well.
Battery capacity is a major selling point
Battery life stands out as one of the strongest parts of the package. OnePlus has equipped the Nord CE 6 with an 8000mAh battery and says it can last more than two days under normal use.
Charging support is equally important here, with 80W fast charging included to reduce downtime. The phone also features bypass charging, which lets power flow directly to the system during gaming so battery heat can be managed more effectively.
There is also 27W reverse wired charging, allowing the Nord CE 6 to act as a backup power source for other devices when needed.
Built for tougher use
Durability has not been left behind in the process. The Nord CE 6 comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, along with MIL-STD-810H compliance. Together, those ratings indicate a device designed to cope with dust, water, and harsher conditions than the average mid-range phone.
To support stable performance during extended heavy use, OnePlus includes a vapour chamber larger than 33,000 mm². That cooling system should help keep temperatures under control during long gaming sessions, which fits the phone’s performance-oriented identity.
A more affordable Nord CE 6 variant
OnePlus is also preparing the Nord CE 6 Lite for buyers looking for a lower-cost option. This version uses the Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset and still keeps the 144Hz display, so the smoother visual experience remains part of the package.
The Lite model carries a 7000mAh battery, which is smaller than the standard version but still very large by mid-range standards. For users who care more about endurance than peak gaming power, that configuration offers a more accessible alternative.
The Nord CE 6 will be available in Fresh Blue, Lunar Pearl, and Pitch Black. The Nord CE 6 Lite, meanwhile, will come in Vivid Mint and Hyper Black, giving the lineup a mix of brighter and more restrained color choices.
