Google’s May security update is now rolling out to Pixel devices, and one of its most important fixes targets a problem many users could feel during everyday use. The patch addresses slow wireless charging that was affecting devices when battery levels sat between 75% and 80%.
The update starts from build vCP1A.260505.005 and covers Pixel 7a through Pixel 10, along with the Pixel Tablet. For owners who had noticed charging behavior changing at a very specific battery range, this is the kind of fix that matters immediately.
Wireless charging gets the main fix
Google says the bug could slow wireless charging more than expected once the battery reached 75% to 80%. That made the issue especially noticeable because it appeared during a common part of the charging cycle rather than at an unusual edge case.
The May patch is meant to restore more stable charging behavior on affected devices. For users who rely on wireless charging every day, the improvement should remove an annoyance that could interrupt normal routines.
Pixel 10 issues are also being addressed
Charging is not the only area Google is working on. The same update brings fixes for camera problems on the Pixel 10 lineup, after some users reported freezes while recording video and when adjusting zoom levels.
Google is also patching a keyboard issue that could affect Pixel input behavior in certain cases. In some apps, the keyboard or input display could freeze or appear misaligned.
Display stability remains part of the cleanup
Visual issues are still on Google’s list, especially for the Pixel 10 family. The May update includes a fix for cases where a white dot would blink or persistent visual noise would appear at the top of the screen, particularly on the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL.
Another display-related fix covers problems that could make the screen look blurry, freeze, or show recurring noise lines. Google says this affects the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL.
Those complaints were not new. Some users had already reported always-on display freezes after the March update, and a portion of them said they had to restart their phones several times a day.
Part of a broader stability push
The May patch shows that Google is still spending significant effort on Pixel stability across both newer and older supported devices. The update is not limited to one model, but it does put the Pixel 10 series under a spotlight because multiple areas are being repaired at once.
That broader approach follows earlier work on Android 16 stability in April, when Google focused on the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL. At the time, the company also worked on performance issues affecting gaming.
With the May security update, Google is again making stability the priority for Pixel users. The package brings charging, camera, keyboard, and display fixes together, making it one of the more relevant updates for owners who have been dealing with daily-use problems.
