For Indonesian smartphone gamers, the most notable shift in nubia’s latest move is not just the price tag, but the decision to bring an internal cooling fan into the Neo 5 Series. That hardware choice places the lineup closer to a more premium gaming category while keeping the positioning relatively accessible.
nubia is aiming the series at users who care about fast response, stable performance, and long battery life. Zhuang Yongke, Country Manager of nubia Indonesia, said the lineup is designed to deliver professional-grade gaming features at a more affordable level.
Cooling becomes the main differentiator
The clearest highlight is the nubia Neo 5 GT, which carries an internal cooling fan. Active cooling like this is usually associated with far more expensive gaming phones, so its presence here becomes the series’ strongest selling point.
nubia pairs the fan with VC Cooling and a Graphene layer to help keep temperatures under control during demanding gameplay. The company says the total cooling area on the Neo 5 GT reaches 29,508 mm².
The nubia Neo 5 5G also uses a combination of VC cooling and Graphene. Its cooling area is listed at 20,000 mm², aimed at reducing heat during FPS, MOBA, and open-world gaming sessions.
Controls built for competitive play
Beyond thermal management, nubia includes Dual Gaming Shoulder Trigger 550Hz through Neo Triggers 5.0. The mechanical system is claimed to deliver latency below 5.5 milliseconds, which is meant to make in-game reactions feel faster.
Those trigger buttons can be mapped for key actions such as shooting, aiming, crouching, and switching weapons. nubia also adds Magic Touch Algorithm 3.0, which boosts screen responsiveness up to 3,049Hz.
Battery and charging for long sessions
The Neo 5 GT is equipped with a dual-cell 6,210mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging. The Neo 5 5G comes with a 6,050mAh battery, giving the series a large-capacity foundation for extended play.
Both models include Bypass Charging, which sends power directly to the device without passing through the battery cell. nubia says this helps reduce internal heat and supports battery health over long-term use.
Display and AI features
On the display side, the nubia Neo 5 GT uses a 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. It also carries SGS Eye Care Low Blue Light certification, which is intended to help reduce eye strain.
nubia also includes Demi AI Copilot 2.0 in the Neo 5 Series. The feature expands the device’s appeal beyond gaming by adding support for daily productivity use.
Launch, preorder, and pricing
The Neo 5 Series was introduced at a gaming showcase at Mini Atrium Gandaria City, Jakarta, on 16–17 May 2026. Visitors at the event could try the devices, join game competitions, and take part in community activities.
Preorders run from 16 to 24 May 2026 through nubia’s official e-commerce network in Indonesia. During the preorder period, buyers can receive bonuses including a gamepad, a cooling fan, discount vouchers, and 99 gold bars weighing 2 grams each.
