Saturday Night’s Main Event in May delivered a busy card that mixed title defenses, a controversial finish, and a statement win in a six-woman tag team match. The show also added new tension around several rivalries, with champions, challengers, and top stars all leaving a clear imprint on the night.
Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab scored one of the biggest wins of the event by defeating Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss. Ripley, Bliss, and Flair opened strong with slick teamwork, but Cargill changed the tone when she floored Bliss with a huge superkick and helped tilt the match into chaos.
Jade Cargill’s team takes control late
The action turned physical fast as Flair and Cargill traded cheap shots, while Michin added more punishment to The Queen. Flair eventually fought back enough to reach Ripley, and the match briefly looked like it could swing back in favor of the trio.
Michin then landed a Styles Clash on Flair, which brought all six competitors into the ring at once. When the dust settled, Cargill returned to shut down the momentum and set Ripley up for the finishing Jaded, giving her side a major win.
Becky Lynch forces a disqualification against Sol Ruca
Becky Lynch and Sol Ruca produced one of the most controversial moments of the night when their match ended in a disqualification. Lynch attacked Ruca before the bell, and the referee allowed the bout to begin once Ruca fired back, setting the tone for a fast and aggressive contest.
Ruca appeared to have control for much of the match, but Lynch found a way to stop the threat by pulling the official into the path of a Sol Snatcher. That move ended the match by disqualification, and Lynch followed it with a post-match assault on Ruca.
Penta survives Ethan Page’s challenge
The Intercontinental Championship stayed with Penta after he defeated Ethan Page in a hard-fought title match. Page came out strong and even drove the champion spine-first onto the announce table, making it clear early that he was ready for the opportunity.
Penta answered with the kind of unpredictable offense that has made him a difficult champion to handle. His Tope con Hilo and Flying Crossbody turned the momentum, while Page kept himself alive through a series of near-falls and by surviving the Penta Driver.
Page tried to take a shortcut by exposing the top turnbuckle and sending Penta into it, but the plan did not work. Penta turned the trap back on Page, drove him into the exposed steel, and finished the match with a Mexican Destroyer to retain the title.
Brie Bella and Paige remain Women’s Tag Team Champions
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles stayed with Paige and Brie Bella after they defeated The Irresistible Forces. Nia Jax and Lash Legend controlled much of the match early and seemed close to regaining the gold, especially as they isolated the champions and kept them from building momentum.
Paige stayed in the fight long enough to survive the pressure, and Bella helped break up a key pin attempt that could have changed the result. The finish came when Paige used leverage and quick timing to stun Jax, allowing the champions to retain their place at the top of the division.
The Vision hold off The Street Profits
The World Tag Team Championships also stayed put, as The Vision defeated The Street Profits in front of a vocal crowd in Fort Wayne, Ind. Logan Paul drew loud boos throughout the match, while Montez Ford earned big reactions after frustrating him with quick offense and a crisp dropkick.
The match shifted once The Vision settled in and began working over Angelo Dawkins, with Paul Heyman smiling at ringside as the momentum changed. Ford later landed an impressive flying elbow from the top rope, and Dawkins added a Doomsday Device-Blockbuster that nearly sealed the win.
The finish came after more outside interference and a scramble that included Bron Breakker, whose spear attempt was stopped by a massive pounce from Dawkins. Paul then used the opening to land a loaded right hand on Ford, and Austin Theory scored the deciding pin to keep the titles with The Vision.
Bron Breakker adds more damage after the bell
The violence did not stop once the bell rang, as Breakker, Theory, and Paul returned to the ring to continue the attack on The Street Profits. Breakker then delivered emphatic spears to both Ford and Dawkins, sending a clear message that The Vision intended to leave no doubt after their title defense.
