A violent early-morning shooting in Miramar left a 21-year-old social media influencer dead after the Lamborghini SUV she was riding in crashed into a home. Police say the vehicle was chased, shot at, and then driven into a residential property after the attack.
Family members identified the victim as Brianna Johnson, known online as DreamDoll Brii, while Miramar Police continue searching for the people involved. Two men who were also inside the SUV were taken to the hospital in critical condition and are recovering.
The shooting and crash
Miramar Police said the victims were traveling along Sunshine Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday when another car followed the Lamborghini and opened fire. Chief Delrish Moss said, “Three people were inside the car; all three had been shot.”
After the gunfire, the SUV continued until it went through a stop sign and struck a home off Southwest 27th Street. Surveillance video obtained by wsvn.com shows a light-colored car trailing the Lamborghini before shots are fired and the suspect vehicle speeds away.
Who the victim was
By Monday morning, Johnson’s family had identified her as the woman killed in the attack. Loved ones said she was active on social media under the name DreamDoll Brii.
Paramedics rushed Johnson and the two men to Memorial Regional Hospital, where Johnson later died from her injuries. Police have not publicly identified the two surviving victims.
How the incident unfolded
Investigators said the three victims had attended a large party at a nearby home earlier in the night. Family members also said the group later stopped at a Shell gas station, where a fight broke out before the shooting.
Moss said the rapid burst of gunfire was detected by ShotSpotter, and neighbors were startled awake by the sound. One resident, Chery Cherr, said her mother initially thought it was fireworks before realizing something was wrong.
Search for the suspects
Police are still looking for the car that fled the scene, which a first responder described in radio transmissions as a dark-tinted white BMW, possibly a four-year model, heading southbound. Investigators spent Monday combing the quiet neighborhood for evidence after the crash turned the street into a crime scene.
Moss said, “This is no way to wake up on a Sunday morning.” Residents described the area as a tight-knit neighborhood where people usually know one another.
Miramar Police asked anyone with information about the shooting, the crash, or the whereabouts of the suspects to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Anonymous callers may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
