Afghan National Admits Sexual Assault of 12-Year-Old Girl in Nuneaton Court Case

An Afghan national has admitted to raping a 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton. The offence occurred on 22 July, according to Warwickshire Police.

The defendant, identified as Mulakhil, pleaded guilty to one count of rape during a court hearing. Another defendant, Mr Kabir, confirmed his name but did not enter a plea.

Both men required interpreters to take part in the hearing before Judge Kristina Montgomery KC. The judge informed the defendants they would appear again in court on 12 December.

Judge Montgomery stated that on the next court date, the complainant witness would attend to be cross-examined. She urged the defendants to carefully reflect on their position before that proceeding.

Both individuals were remanded into custody pending further court directions. The case has garnered attention due to the serious nature of the crime and the victim’s young age.

Warwickshire Police confirmed the defendants’ Afghan nationality but have withheld further personal details. The court process remains ongoing as the legal teams prepare for the upcoming hearing.

This development highlights ongoing efforts to address violent crimes against vulnerable victims in the region. Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of protecting children and ensuring justice is served.

Further updates will follow as the case proceeds through the legal system and more information becomes available.
