Hot 97’s ‘Ebro in the Morning’ Show Ends After 13 Years

Hot 97’s popular morning radio show, Ebro in the Morning, has officially ended after more than a decade on air. The last broadcast aired on a Friday in December, marking the close of a show that began in 2012.

Cohosts Ebro Darden, Laura Stylez, and Peter Rosenberg all shared announcements about the show’s conclusion on social media. Rosenberg’s representative also confirmed to Billboard that the program "as it stands is in fact over." Hot 97 has since removed all references to the show from its website.

The news came as a shock to fans, who saw cryptic posts from Ebro and Rosenberg that morning. Darden candidly stated the show was “done,” while Rosenberg hinted at changes ahead and confirmed the finality of his appearance on the show.

Stylez, who joined the cast a year after the show’s launch, expressed her emotions in a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. She praised their audience and the work they accomplished together, adding there are plans for future projects involving the trio.

Ebro Darden returned to Hot 97 as program director and host of the morning show after an earlier stint at the station. Rosenberg has been a staple at Hot 97 for nearly 20 years, becoming the station’s longest-tenured morning host.

Rosenberg reflected on his career journey, recounting how he went from a hip hop fan to interviewing legends at Summer Jam. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity and support he received, acknowledging occasional missteps but underscoring his commitment to authenticity and hip hop culture.

The fate of Hot 97’s morning radio slot remains uncertain. However, the show’s syndicator, Super Radio Networks, confirmed in a statement their ongoing support for Ebro as a brand. The company plans to continue distributing his voice across new platforms and teased announcements coming soon.

Recent changes at Hot 97 also included a reshuffle in DJ time slots, signaling broader shifts in the station’s programming. Fans eagerly await what new content Ebro, Stylez, and Rosenberg will deliver in the near future.
