The Pittsburgh Penguins are set to host the Buffalo Sabres at PPG Paints Arena for the first game of a three-game homestand. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7 PM, with doors opening an hour earlier at 6 PM.
Fans attending the game will experience Margaritaville Night, featuring island-inspired settings and live music throughout the event. The first 7,500 attendees will receive a Hawaiian shirt, courtesy of Levin Furniture & Mattress, enhancing the tropical atmosphere. Classic margaritas and prickly pear margaritas will be available at multiple bars within the arena. For those craving a themed snack, Steel City Smash, located behind Sections 108 and 206, will offer the “cheeseburger in paradise.” Additionally, PensGear will offer exclusive Margaritaville-themed merchandise, such as t-shirts, pucks, and Penguins branded shorts.
This event also marks the Penguins Pledge Game, presented by U.S. Steel. Spectators are encouraged to visit the lower concourse, where they can participate in a variety of free activities. These include a live webcam showcasing U.S. Steel’s resident bald eagles and a life-size eagle wingspan display in the Hall of Fame Hallway. Behind Section 104, visitors can engage with 412 Food Rescue representatives and learn about efforts to reduce food waste in Pittsburgh. Experts from the National Aviary will be present with penguin ambassadors during pregame and the first intermission near Section 115.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN, providing viewers nationwide with access to the matchup. Local fans have the option to listen to live commentary on 105.9 The X or through the Penguins mobile app. This combination of in-person festivities and accessible media coverage aims to engage a broad audience while promoting community involvement through the Penguins Pledge initiatives.
