JBL has refreshed the Soundgear Clips lineup with a new Emerald Green version that stands out for more than just its color. The special edition is currently limited to China, which gives the open-ear model a more exclusive appeal without changing its core hardware.
The design remains centered on JBL’s transparent look, and the matching charging case keeps that visual identity intact. Rather than altering the shape or the feature set, JBL is using color as the main distinction for this release.
What stays the same
Behind the new finish, the Soundgear Clips still follows the same formula as the standard model. JBL keeps the SonicArc design together with OpenSound Technology and Air Conduction, aiming to reduce sound leakage during use.
Each earpiece still uses an 11 mm dynamic driver and two beamforming microphones. The model also carries an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, which helps support everyday use in different conditions.
Bluetooth 5.4 remains part of the package, along with Bluetooth Multipoint for easier switching between more than one device. JBL also continues to support the earbuds with the JBL Headphones app on Android and iOS.
Battery and availability
Battery life also remains unchanged, with JBL claiming up to 8 hours on a single charge. With the charging case, total playback time is listed at up to 32 hours.
In China, the Emerald Green special edition is already listed on JD.com for ¥999. The company has not confirmed whether this color will appear in other markets.
The regular Soundgear Clips is also available in other regions, with Amazon listing it at $149.95. For now, the Emerald Green version simply adds a more striking option for buyers who want the same open-ear hardware in a different finish.
