Valve’s latest Steam Deck OLED restock did not last long. Within hours, the 512GB and 1TB models were gone again, even after both versions saw steep price increases.
That quick sellout suggests demand for Valve’s premium handheld remains strong despite the higher price tag. Limited supply is still shaping the market, and every new batch appears to disappear almost as soon as it returns.
Prices rose sharply before the restock
The 512GB Steam Deck OLED went from $549 to $789, while the 1TB model climbed by $300 to $949. Those are substantial jumps for buyers who were already waiting for stock to return.
Even so, the higher pricing did not stop the latest restock from being absorbed immediately. The two models were available only briefly before they were marked out of stock again.
Valve says the hardware has not changed
Valve addressed the price increase with a short update. The company said the Steam Deck OLED hardware itself remains unchanged, meaning the higher prices are not tied to a new internal revision.
That detail matters because major price increases often raise expectations of a refreshed device. In this case, buyers are paying more for the same core hardware configuration as before.
Component pressure is still a factor
Valve pointed to pressure on component costs as one reason behind the increase. The company specifically highlighted serious supply issues affecting memory and NAND flash.
It also cited ongoing global logistics challenges as another burden on the industry. Together, those factors have pushed Steam Deck OLED pricing far above its earlier levels.
Strong demand continues despite the shortage
The latest sellout shows that interest in the Steam Deck OLED has not cooled. Buyers are still willing to chase the 512GB and 1TB versions even after the price hike.
At the same time, the limited supply keeps turning each restock into a short-lived event. For shoppers, availability has become just as important as price, since units disappear quickly once they appear.
Valve now faces a familiar problem for a sought-after product: high demand, brief stock windows, and much higher prices than before. Unless supply improves soon, the next chance to buy a Steam Deck OLED may be just as short-lived as the last.
