Forza Horizon 6 Car Meets Feel Empty, Design Choices Are Now Under Scrutiny

A crowded social space can be hard to build in a game that already has a large active player base, and that is exactly the tension now surrounding Car Meets in Forza Horizon 6. Despite SteamDB showing more than 100,000 daily active players on Steam, many players say the meetup areas often look strangely empty.

The issue gained wider attention after a Reddit post showed a Car Meet parking area with only two cars in it, including the poster’s own vehicle. That image pushed the conversation away from simple complaints about player turnout and toward a bigger question about whether the feature itself is failing to present activity in a convincing way.

A social feature that should feel busy

Car Meets were designed to be one of the most communal spaces in Forza Horizon 6. The idea is straightforward: give players a place in the open world to show off their cars, look at other vehicles, and run into other drivers naturally.

On paper, that should make the feature one of the easiest ways for spontaneous social interaction to happen. In practice, players have repeatedly reported arriving at Car Meets only to find them nearly deserted, which makes the area feel disconnected from the otherwise active state of the game.

The design, not just the player count, is under scrutiny

Some Reddit users have suggested that server limits or visibility limits may be keeping only a small number of drivers visible in one instance. The exact number of players allowed in a single instance has not been made clear, but the complaint is consistent: a parking area with twelve slots does not feel lively when only a few cars appear.

That has shifted the debate. The emptiness is no longer being framed only as a lack of interest from players. Instead, many are arguing that the feature does not do enough to make the presence of other players feel real, even when the broader player base is clearly active.

Not enough incentive to stay

The criticism is not limited to how the feature looks. Community discussions also point to a lack of reasons to visit Car Meets in the first place, and even fewer reasons to remain there for long.

For many players, the area is treated as a stopover rather than a destination. Reports from the community suggest that some only enter Car Meets when a festival task requires it or when they are chasing achievements.

That has led to calls for stronger rewards and clearer activity hooks. Some players want voting for the best car, while others have suggested prizes such as XP, credits, and Wheelspin rewards for people who attend and take part.

Occasional activity, but not enough to change the impression

The feature is not completely lifeless. Some players say they have seen sudden moments where several cars gather at once, and organized convoys have also been able to make the area feel more active.

Even so, those moments are widely treated as exceptions rather than the norm. The basic concept still has support, but many players believe it needs more development before Car Meets can feel consistently busy.

There is still no clear sign that Playground Games will address the complaints, but the discussion shows that the feature has potential that has not yet been fully realized. For a game with a large active audience, the disappointment comes from how rarely that activity seems to translate into a Car Meet that actually feels alive.
