Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 May Stretch Battery Life Far Beyond Its First Model

Samsung’s next Galaxy Watch Ultra model is shaping up to be a more serious endurance play than a routine update. A new leak suggests the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could receive a major battery boost, and that change may become its most important selling point.

According to Sammobile, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is expected to carry a 784 mAh battery, which may be marketed as 800 mAh. That would represent a 35 percent jump over the first Galaxy Watch Ultra, which uses a 590 mAh battery.

The size of that increase is notable for a smartwatch, where every extra milliamp-hour must still fit around health sensors, a compact body, and power-efficient components. If the leak proves accurate, the new battery could help the watch last significantly longer between charges.

Battery life appears to be the main target

The reported capacity upgrade lines up with Samsung’s apparent focus on longer real-world use rather than a cosmetic refresh. A larger battery, paired with the new Snapdragon Wear Elite SoC, could give the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 a meaningful edge in endurance.

Charging speed remains unclear, however. The leak does not explain whether Samsung plans to improve recharge times, and there is no confirmation yet that the company will make that part of the upgrade story.

Other Galaxy Watch models may not move in the same way

Samsung’s broader smartwatch lineup may see more uneven changes. Sammobile says the 40 mm Galaxy Watch9 is tipped to use a 382 mAh battery, likely marketed as 400 mAh, which would be a 23 percent increase over the Galaxy Watch8’s 325 mAh cell.

The 44 mm Galaxy Watch9 is said to remain at 435 mAh, suggesting Samsung is not applying the same battery strategy to every version. That makes the Ultra model’s upgrade stand out even more sharply.

Model Reported Battery Compared With
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 784 mAh, likely marketed as 800 mAh 35% larger than Galaxy Watch Ultra
Galaxy Watch Ultra 590 mAh First-generation model
Galaxy Watch9 40 mm 382 mAh, likely marketed as 400 mAh 23% larger than Galaxy Watch8

Launch is expected alongside Samsung’s next wave of devices

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is expected to arrive with Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch9 Classic. Those watches are also said to launch together with Samsung’s next foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

For now, the information remains a leak, so the figures and the timing still need official confirmation from Samsung. Even so, the rumored battery jump is already enough to make the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 one of the most closely watched wearable launches in Samsung’s upcoming lineup.
