DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Pro Adds 3x Zoom, But The Extra Reach Comes With More Weight

DJI has expanded its pocket camera lineup with the Osmo Pocket 4 Pro, a model that aims to give creators more framing flexibility without abandoning the compact idea that defines the series. The biggest change is the addition of a new 3x telephoto lens, which changes how the device can be used for vlogging and close-up detail shots.

That telephoto upgrade sits alongside a 2-inch OLED display with 556 x 314-pixel resolution and 1,000 nits of brightness. DJI also adds D-Log 2 support and 4K slow-motion recording at 240 FPS, making the Pro variant more oriented toward creators who want more post-production room and more motion options.

A telephoto lens that broadens shooting options

The 3x telephoto lens is the defining difference between the Osmo Pocket 4 Pro and the standard Osmo Pocket 4. It uses an f/1.8 aperture, a 60 mm equivalent focal length, and a smaller 1/1.28-inch optical format sensor than the main lens.

For still photography, the telephoto module supports ISO 100-25,600. In video capture under low light, sensitivity increases to ISO 100-51,200, giving the camera more range when scenes become dim.

For creators, the practical effect is clear. The device can move beyond a single wide perspective and support more varied framing choices without relying on another camera.

The familiar core hardware remains in place

Despite the new imaging option, DJI keeps several key elements unchanged. The battery remains a 1,545 mAh unit rated at 11.95 Wh, and the screen size and brightness stay the same as on the non-Pro model.

DJI appears to be preserving the baseline experience while expanding creative capability. The camera still uses a three-axis gimbal, but the added telephoto hardware pushes the body into a larger form factor.

That change affects portability. The Osmo Pocket 4 Pro is said to be 20% heavier and reaches 230 grams, while its height is also 10% greater than the standard model.

Price, color options, and positioning in China

In China, the Osmo Pocket 4 Pro starts at CNY 3,799, or around $562. DJI offers it in Classic Black and Pearl White, while a Vlog Set bundle is priced at CNY 4,299, or around $636.

By comparison, the standard Osmo Pocket 4 starts at CNY 2,999, or around $444, in the same market. The gap places the Pro model at a noticeably higher price, but the extra telephoto lens and broader video features are aimed at users who want more flexibility from a pocket-sized camera.

For creators who care about framing variety, the combination of a 1,000-nit display, D-Log 2 support, and 4K 240 FPS slow motion may be the strongest reason to consider the Pro version. The trade-off is simple: more capability, but also more weight.
