Geely is pushing the EX5 facelift beyond a routine refresh. The electric SUV now arrives with a stronger technology package, a more assertive driving character, and a design update that gives it a noticeably sharper presence.
The most eye-catching addition is the LiDAR unit mounted on the roof. That hardware is expected to significantly improve the vehicle’s driver-assistance system by helping it detect surrounding objects on the road with greater accuracy.
Power delivery has been heavily revised
Geely did not limit the update to safety and sensing technology. The company also reworked the electric motor output in a major way, aiming for a much stronger performance gain than before.
As a result, acceleration from standstill to 100 km/h is said to be quicker, while the overall driving character is tuned to feel more aggressive without sacrificing daily usability.
Battery efficiency and charging speed were also improved
Beyond straight-line performance, the EX5 facelift also benefits from better energy management. Geely optimized the battery system to support improved operating range and more efficient use of power.
The DC fast-charging capability has also been upgraded, reducing the time needed at public charging stations and making the SUV more convenient for regular use.
A more sporting exterior finish
Visually, the EX5 facelift has been given a more dynamic look. New front and rear bumper designs also help support airflow around the body.
The LED headlamps now use a slimmer petal-shaped form, which gives the SUV a more modern and sporty face. Combined with the other changes, the facelift moves the EX5 closer to a more mature and technology-led identity.
Overall, the update shows that Geely is treating the EX5 as more than a cosmetic refresh. With LiDAR, stronger electric performance, improved battery efficiency, and a cleaner exterior treatment, the model now targets buyers who want a more advanced electric SUV.
