Minix has added a new entry to the budget mini PC segment with the N304-AI, a compact system built around Intel Wildcat Lake. The machine is positioned as a small, practical desktop for users who want modern features without moving into a higher price class.
What makes the N304-AI stand out is not only its size, but also the AI label attached to it. Minix says the system delivers a combined AI capability of up to 24 TOPS through its NPU and iGPU, placing it in the category of lightweight AI workloads rather than demanding creative or workstation tasks.
Entry-level Intel silicon takes the lead
At the center of the N304-AI is the Core 3 304, an entry-level processor from Intel’s Wildcat Lake family. It uses a 5-core configuration and includes a basic Intel Xe3 integrated GPU.
That specification may not sound aggressive, but it reflects the direction of the device clearly. Minix is targeting users who need a compact machine for everyday computing and light AI use, not a performance-first mini PC for heavy multitasking.
Memory and storage are built for practical use
The system comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory, giving it a modern memory setup for its class. Storage is handled by a 512GB PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD in the announced configuration.
Minix also says the storage is designed to be easy to upgrade. That matters for buyers planning to keep a mini PC for a longer period, especially if they expect their storage needs to grow over time.
Ports keep the small machine flexible
Despite its compact form, the N304-AI is equipped with a useful set of wired connections. Minix lists one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, one HDMI 2.1 port, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, and two Gigabit Ethernet ports.
The dual Ethernet setup is one of the more distinctive parts of the design. For office desks, network-heavy setups, or users who still prefer stable wired connections, that feature gives the N304-AI an advantage over many mini PCs in the same general class.
Wireless support and compact design complete the package
On the wireless side, the mini PC supports Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6. Those standards keep it current for home use, small offices, and other low-footprint setups that depend on a mix of wireless and wired peripherals.
Promotional images show a thin chassis and a minimal look, reinforcing the product’s role as a space-saving desktop option. The styling matches the hardware brief: small, tidy, and aimed at users who value convenience over raw power.
Pricing remains under wraps for now
Minix has not announced the official price or availability of the N304-AI yet. The company has only indicated that more information will follow later.
Even without pricing, the outline is already clear. With Intel Wildcat Lake, 16GB of LPDDR5X, a 512GB SSD option, and a broad port selection, the N304-AI is shaping up as a low-cost mini PC that tries to make AI features feel accessible rather than aspirational.
