Thrustmaster has turned the Ferrari 499P into a highly limited sim racing collectible, and the number alone is enough to raise eyebrows. Only 499 units will be made, matching the name of the hypercar that inspired it.
The timing also gives the product extra weight. Ferrari’s 499P returned to Le Mans in 2023 after a 58-year absence, then went on to secure three consecutive victories, giving this replica a clear link to endurance racing history.
A licensed replica built for Ferrari fans
Developed in collaboration with Ferrari, the wheel is presented as a 1:1 replica aimed at recreating an authentic racing feel at home. Thrustmaster positions it as a serious alternative for enthusiasts who want a close match to motorsport hardware without moving into the highest professional price tiers.
The rear body uses carbon fiber, while the setup includes six pedals and backlit control switches. Those details are meant to bring more of the cockpit atmosphere into a home sim racing rig.
Screen, LEDs, and quick-glance race data
At the center of the wheel is a 4.3-inch display with an LCD panel. Thrustmaster says it can show up to 140 parameters, which gives drivers a dense amount of race information in one place.
The visual race cues do not stop there. The wheel also includes 12 RPM LEDs and 10 flag LEDs, helping users monitor speed, warnings, and other track conditions without taking their eyes off the action for long.
Controls built for fast adjustments
Thrustmaster fitted the wheel with 12 buttons, four aluminum thumb encoders, and three rotary encoders. The rotary controls use Italian tricolor styling and are intended for strategy changes and engine-related adjustments during a race.
The aluminum thumb encoders are there for more precise tuning. They can be used for settings such as traction, brake bias, and drivetrain adjustments, giving the wheel a more technical motorsport feel.
Limited supply, premium positioning
Mechanical control is reinforced by dual carbon-fiber shift pedals and four analog metal pedals. Together, they underline that this is designed as a performance-oriented racing interface rather than a display-only collector’s piece.
