TECNO has introduced the Camon Slim as a handset that tries to solve one of the smartphone market’s biggest problems: looking too similar. Instead of relying on a familiar design, the company paired an ultra-thin body with a rear interactive display and a curved-screen layout that stands out immediately.
The device debuted on 22 June 2026 and brings a 6.39 mm profile to the Camon series, a segment where TECNO is now pushing a more distinctive visual identity. That approach is supported by a horizontal capsule-shaped rear module that houses the phone’s most unusual feature, the mood lighting system.
Thin chassis, large battery
One of the most notable points about the Camon Slim is the way TECNO balances design and endurance. Even with its slim frame, the phone is equipped with either a 5600 mAh or 6000 mAh battery, depending on the market.
Charging is handled through USB Type-C with support for up to 60 W input. TECNO also says the battery should retain more than 80 percent health after 2,000 charging cycles, which is a meaningful claim for a device this thin.
Rear panel that does more than decorate
The rear module is not just a visual accent. TECNO built the mood lighting system into that capsule-shaped section, using 354 mini LEDs and 55 animations to create a more interactive back panel.
Its role goes beyond appearance, since the lighting can activate for incoming messages, calls, charging activity, and even while gaming. The result is a rear surface that functions as both a design element and a notification interface.
Expressions on the back
The mood lighting system is also designed to display expressions such as eyes and mouth shapes. That gives the Camon Slim a more personal feel and makes the back of the phone a visible part of the user experience rather than a passive surface.
This is the kind of feature TECNO appears to be using to separate the model from the more conventional mid-range competition. It combines visual flair, notification signaling, and customization in a single panel on the rear of the device.
Mid-range hardware with Helio G200 Ultimate
Inside, the Camon Slim relies on MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate, a 4G chipset built on a 6 nm process. The processor uses two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0 GHz.
Memory comes in 8 GB RAM, with up to 16 GB more available virtually for a total of 24 GB. Storage options are 128 GB and 256 GB, and there is no microSD card slot.
Camera and display details
TECNO keeps the rear camera setup simple with just two cameras. The main unit uses a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor at 1/1.95 inches, accompanied by a flicker sensor in the same rear module.
On the front, the phone carries a 32MP camera with a 92.4-degree field of view inside a punch-hole cutout. The output is shown on a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1224 x 2720 pixel resolution, or 1.5K, and a 144 Hz refresh rate.
Built for tougher conditions
TECNO has also given the Camon Slim a strong durability profile. The phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, meaning it is resistant to dust, can survive immersion in water for 30 minutes, and can withstand high-pressure water jets of up to 100 bar at 80 degrees Celsius.
Other features include stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, an infrared transmitter, NFC, and HiOS 16 based on Android 16. Color choices include new Mondrian, prism black, jungle green, Van Gogh blue, and burgundy red.
TECNO has not announced pricing yet, as the phone will only be priced when it reaches its target markets. Even so, the combination of an ultra-thin build, large battery, interactive rear lighting, and high-end durability makes the Camon Slim one of the most attention-grabbing TECNO models so far.
