Android 17 has moved from expectation to reality, and the focus is already shifting to one question: which phones will actually get it. The answer is important because the update brings stronger AI features, more flexible multitasking, extra security, and better performance optimization.
Google’s Pixel line remains the fastest route to the new version, but the rollout is expected to expand well beyond Pixel devices. A long list of models from Samsung, Xiaomi, Honor, OnePlus, OPPO, Motorola, Nothing, CMF, Sony, Realme, and Asus is now being discussed as likely candidates for the update.
Google Pixel Still Leads the Rollout
As usual, Pixel devices are first in line because Android is developed directly by Google. The initial rollout includes Pixel 10a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a.
This follows Google’s long-standing pattern of pushing new Android versions to its own devices first before widening availability to other brands through 2026.
Samsung Brings the Longest Expected List
Samsung is again positioned to cover a wide range of devices, from flagship phones to mid-range models. The expected Android 17 lineup includes Galaxy S26 Ultra and the rest of the S26 series, Galaxy S25 Ultra and the rest of the S25 series, Galaxy S24 Ultra and the rest of the S24 series, and Galaxy S23 Ultra and the rest of the S23 series.
On the mid-range side, the list extends to Galaxy A17, A16, A25, A26, A36, A56, A35, A55, A54, and A34. Foldables also remain in the picture with Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, plus Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.
Samsung has earned a reputation for generous software support, with some flagship models receiving up to seven generations of Android. Even so, Galaxy S22, S21 FE, and Z Fold 4 are now expected to miss out on this major update.
Other Major Brands Still Have Plenty in the Pipeline
Xiaomi is expected to push Android 17 to a broad mix of new and recent models, including Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 15, 15 Pro, 15 Ultra, Xiaomi 14, 14 Pro, 14 Ultra, Xiaomi 13T, 13T Pro, Redmi Note 15, Note 15 Pro, Redmi Note 14, Note 14 Pro, Poco X7, X7 Pro, Poco F6, F6 Pro, Mix Fold 4, and Mix Flip.

OnePlus is also expected to participate strongly with OnePlus 15, 15R, 15T, 13, 13R, 12, 12R, 11 5G, OnePlus Open, Nord 4, and Nord 5.
OPPO’s projected lineup is equally broad, covering Find N6, Find X9, X9 Pro, X9 Ultra, Find X8, X8 Pro, X8 Ultra, Find X7, X7 Ultra, Reno 15, Reno 15 Pro, Reno 14, Reno 14 Pro, Reno 13, Reno 13 Pro, Reno 13 F, Reno 13 FS, A5 5G, A5 Pro, and A40.
More Brands on the Radar
Motorola is expected to bring Android 17 to the Edge 70, Edge 60 series, Razr 60 series, and Moto G56, G75, and G86. Nothing and CMF also appear in the expected update list, with Nothing Phone 4a Pro, Phone 4a, Phone 3a, Phone (2), and CMF Phone 2 Pro.
Sony’s likely candidates include Xperia 1 VII, Xperia 1 VI, Xperia 10 VII, and Xperia 10 VI, while Realme’s list covers GT 7 Pro, GT 8 series, Realme 14 series, and Realme 13 series. Asus is also expected to remain in the group with ROG Phone 9 Pro, ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro, Zenfone 12 Ultra, and Zenfone 11 Ultra.
With minimum five-year support becoming mandatory from 2025, the pool of devices eligible for Android 17 remains wide. Even so, some older phones are already beginning to fall outside the major update cycle.
