Salesforce Brings AI Into Everyday Workflows for Indonesian SMEs, Cutting Admin Burden

Salesforce is pushing a more practical form of AI for Indonesian small and medium-sized enterprises by placing Agentforce directly inside its Salesforce Suites and introducing Slack CRM. The aim is straightforward: reduce repetitive administrative work so business owners can spend more time on customers and growth.

The move lands at a time when SMEs remain central to Indonesia’s economy, yet productivity gaps are still wide. McKinsey Global Institute has said SME productivity is 75% lower than that of large corporations, while the country counts 73,828 small businesses and 15,313 medium-sized businesses.

AI built into the tools teams already use

Salesforce is not positioning this as a complicated transformation project. Instead, the company is embedding AI directly into Salesforce Suites, its CRM platform for SMEs and startups, so users can start using it without heavy initial setup.

Through Agentforce, users on the Free, Starter, and Pro Suites can instantly summarize data, create personalized email drafts automatically, and track customer activity. For Starter and Pro users, an Employee Agent is also available to help compose business communications and log work activity through simple conversational instructions.

Salesforce says the system is powered by Agentforce 360, which keeps company data privacy and security within the integrated platform. The company also said the approach avoids third-party tools, helping businesses keep their workflows consolidated.

Slack becomes a sales workspace, too

Alongside Agentforce, Salesforce has launched Slack CRM to centralize customer relationship management in the place where teams already collaborate every day. With Slackbot support, businesses can create contacts, track leads, and update sales deals directly in Slack conversations.

Because it is built on Salesforce infrastructure, Slack CRM is also designed to make transitions and operational scaling smoother as businesses grow. Data does not need to be moved repeatedly from one system to another, which can reduce friction when expanding operations.

Vernon Cheo, Head of Emerging Small and Medium Business at Salesforce ASEAN, said agentic AI can help SMEs create multiplied impact without the same time and effort required for large-company transformations. That position reflects Salesforce’s broader effort to make AI and CRM tools feel immediately useful for smaller businesses.

For SMEs facing a persistent productivity gap, the combination of Agentforce and Slack CRM is meant to remove manual work that often consumes valuable time. The focus is not on adding another disconnected tool, but on folding automation, collaboration, and customer management into daily workflows that teams already rely on.
