Garmin Beta 22.27 Fixes 15 Issues, Stability Gains Reach Enduro 3 And Fenix 8 Series

Garmin’s Beta Version 22.27 arrives as a substantial cleanup for its premium smartwatch lineup, with 15 bugs addressed across core functions that many users rely on every day. The update targets Enduro 3, Fenix E, Fenix 8, Quatix 8, Tactix 8, and the Fenix 8 Pro family, and several of the fixes focus on stability in situations where the watch is actively in use.

The most important changes are tied to crashes and interruptions during common actions. Garmin has fixed potential crash scenarios when dismissing notifications, starting or running an activity, using LiveTrack, and updating audio prompt files at the same time as a software update.

That stability work matters because these watches are built for training, navigation, and other outdoor use. When a device is expected to stay reliable during movement, even small failures can affect the daily experience.

Garmin also corrected a battery estimate issue that appeared when users switched power modes during an activity. For multisport users, that kind of fix is especially relevant because power mode changes are often used to balance tracking accuracy and battery efficiency.

Navigation-related behavior has also been cleaned up. Garmin fixed a problem in Sight N’ Go that could leave the device stuck in a map activity, which is the sort of issue that can disrupt route changes or direction guidance in the field.

Interface and built-in apps also get attention

The update is not limited to crash fixes. Garmin also addressed a long-press and swipe-down issue that could fail when the notification center was turned off.

Music behavior was improved as well, particularly when the marquee stopped after always-on display resumed. In the weather app, Garmin fixed a case where weather data would not refresh after the app was opened.

Another small but visible correction involves the boot animation, which previously would no longer play. While that does not affect core performance directly, it does help the watch feel normal when it powers on.

Garmin also fixed a notification issue in spectator messages, where incoming messages would not trigger vibration or sound. That matters for users who depend on event tracking or similar live monitoring setups.

Activity-specific fixes and model-related changes

Some of the fixes are aimed at more specialized workouts. Garmin corrected the down button behavior when selecting difficulty levels for climbing and bouldering activities.

The company also fixed track detection that could become active during trail run activities. That kind of adjustment helps keep activity data aligned with the sport selected by the user.

One fix is specific to Tactix 8. Garmin repaired the night vision colour shift feature, which was not behaving as intended on that model.

Distribution of Beta Version 22.27 is still partial, with Garmin estimating availability for about 50% of Beta Program participants. That means some users of Enduro 3, Fenix E, Quatix 8, and Tactix 8 may remain on an earlier beta build for the time being.

This release follows Beta Version 22.24 and then v22.26, before moving to v22.27. Garmin still plans additional beta releases in the 22.xx branch before the development line shifts to the stable channel.

Across the 22.24 to 22.27 range, Garmin has now addressed 15 bugs in total. Only six of those changes are new since v22.26, which makes v22.27 more of a refinement pass than the start of a completely new fix list.

Garmin also updated translations in this firmware build. It is a smaller change than the crash fixes or navigation repairs, but it still helps keep the interface consistent across regions and markets.
