VinFast is taking a different route into the Philippine MPV market by pairing a seven-seat electric family model with a battery subscription option. That approach lowers the upfront price of the VF MPV 7 and targets buyers who want a spacious EV without the full initial cost of battery ownership.
The strategy matters in a country where MPVs remain a major segment. By offering both an inclusive battery price and a separate battery-rental scheme, VinFast is trying to make a large electric family vehicle feel more accessible to households that are considering an EV for the first time.
Two purchase paths for the same 7-seater
In the Philippines, the VF MPV 7 is priced at PHP 1.518.000 when the battery is included. VinFast also offers a subscription plan at PHP 1.239.000, giving customers a lower entry price if they prefer not to buy the battery outright.
The subscription is billed according to monthly distance traveled. It costs PHP 2.700 for use up to 2.000 km per month, then rises to PHP 4.150 for usage above 2.000 km.
Orders are already open through VinFast’s official dealer network starting 5 May 2026. Buyers who choose the version with the battery included receive an instant discount of PHP 27.200.
Early incentives to accelerate adoption
VinFast is also adding a temporary benefit for the first 1.000 customers. Until 31 May 2026, they are eligible for free battery subscription for one year, limited to usage of up to 2.000 km per month.
That offer is meant to reduce the barrier for early buyers and encourage more customers to try the model under the battery-rental scheme. It also reinforces VinFast’s broader push to expand EV adoption through flexible ownership options.
Built for family use
The VF MPV 7 is positioned as a seven-passenger family vehicle with a cabin designed to prioritize space and practicality. VinFast says the model is intended for users who want a roomy interior, modern features, and better efficiency than a gasoline-powered MPV.
The company is betting that comfort, performance, and controlled operating costs will resonate in the Philippine market. That market still has strong demand for MPV models, which makes the segment a natural target for a large electric family vehicle.
Size, design, and cargo capacity
The VF MPV 7 measures 4.740 x 1.872 x 1.734 mm and has a wheelbase of 2.840 mm. VinFast says the layout follows a “golden ratio” concept, with the wheels placed at the corners to maximize cabin space.
Its exterior carries the brand’s familiar identity through V-shaped LED lighting. The vehicle also rides on 19-inch alloy wheels, giving it a more modern and assertive look.
Inside, the cabin is arranged for comfort across all three rows, including the third row. Cargo space reaches 1.240 liters, which supports both daily errands and longer trips.
Electric performance and charging
Power comes from a 150 kW electric motor producing 280 Nm of torque. The battery pack has a capacity of 60,13 kWh and delivers up to 450 km of range on a full charge under the NEDC standard.
Fast charging is supported as well. VinFast says the battery can go from 10 percent to 70 percent in about 30 minutes.
Ownership support and warranty coverage
VinFast is also emphasizing operating cost as one of the model’s main strengths. The company says monthly costs for the electric MPV are lower than those of a gasoline vehicle, which can help reduce long-term ownership expenses.
Buyers in the Philippines also receive free charging at V-Green stations until March 2029. Warranty coverage includes 7 years or 160.000 km for the vehicle and 10 years or 200.000 km for the battery.
Antonio Zara, CEO of VinFast Southeast Asia, said the launch of the VF MPV 7 is part of the company’s strategic move to expand in global markets. VinFast continues to build its EV ecosystem in the Philippines through dealer expansion, after-sales support, free charging, and flexible purchase options intended to remove adoption barriers.
