Xiaomi 17T Series Leaks Point To 5x Zoom, Huge Batteries, And Premium Value

The Xiaomi 17T series is starting to take shape as another aggressive flagship-killer lineup, with leaks pointing to a clear split between the standard Xiaomi 17T and the more capable Xiaomi 17T Pro. Both models appear aimed at users who want premium-level performance, fast charging, modern connectivity, and HyperOS based on Android 16 without stepping into the highest price bracket.

What stands out most from the early details is how Xiaomi seems to be separating the two phones in meaningful ways. The Pro model is expected to bring a larger display, a bigger battery, and faster charging, while both devices still keep telephoto zoom as one of their main selling points.

Xiaomi 17T Pro pushes the hardware further

The Xiaomi 17T Pro is said to feature a 6.83-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. That combination places it as the more visually ambitious option in the lineup, especially for gaming and media consumption.

Under the hood, the Pro variant is rumored to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. Power also gets a major boost, with a 7000mAh battery, 100W fast charging, and 50W wireless charging all mentioned for the device.

Camera setup keeps 5x optical zoom in focus

On the imaging side, the Xiaomi 17T Pro is expected to carry a 50MP Light Fusion 950 main camera. It is paired with a 50MP telephoto camera that supports 5x optical zoom, along with a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 32MP front camera.

That telephoto setup is important because it shows Xiaomi is still giving serious attention to zoom performance. With 5x optical zoom on board, the Pro model is positioned as the more photography-focused choice among the two.

The regular Xiaomi 17T still looks well equipped

The standard Xiaomi 17T is not a scaled-down entry-level model by any means. It is reportedly powered by the Dimensity 8500-Ultra, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Its display is said to be a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. While smaller than the Pro version, that specification set still points to a smooth and responsive daily experience.

Battery and charging create the clearest gap

The biggest differences between the two phones appear in battery size and charging speed. The Xiaomi 17T is said to pack a 6500mAh battery with 67W fast charging, while the Pro model moves up to 7000mAh and 100W wired charging.

Both phones are also expected to share a similar camera arrangement in some areas, including a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP selfie camera. The main difference lies in the primary sensor, with the Xiaomi 17T using a 50MP Light Fusion 800 and the Pro relying on the 50MP Light Fusion 950.

Early pricing points to an upper-midrange flagship killer strategy

Pricing leaks suggest the Xiaomi 17T will start at EUR749 for the 12GB/256GB version. The Xiaomi 17T Pro is expected to arrive at EUR999 for the 12GB/512GB configuration.

Both models are also said to support Wi-Fi 6E and NFC, while running Android 16 with HyperOS out of the box. If these specifications and prices hold, the Xiaomi 17T series could become a notable option for buyers seeking large batteries, fast screens, and telephoto zoom without going all the way to the most expensive flagship tier.
