7,000mAh Battery Steals The Spotlight In Motorola’s New Entry-Level Pair

Motorola’s latest entry-level push is built around a simple idea: give budget buyers a phone that lasts far longer between charges. That approach is most obvious in the Moto G37 Power, which stands out with a 7,000mAh battery, a capacity that is still uncommon in this price segment.

The standard Moto G37 follows the same formula with a smaller 5,200mAh battery, while still keeping battery life a central selling point. Both models also support 6W reverse wired charging, so they can pass power to other devices through a cable when needed.

Two versions, one clear battery-first strategy

The battery gap is the most immediate difference between the two phones. The Moto G37 Power adds 30W wired charging, while the Moto G37 comes with 20W fast charging.

That split also helps define the lineup’s appeal. Motorola is clearly targeting users who want a simple 5G phone that can last through heavy daily use without frequent recharging.

Shared core hardware keeps the lineup familiar

Despite the battery differences, both phones share the same main platform. Motorola equips each model with the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset and Android 16.

They also use a dual nano-SIM setup, which keeps the devices aligned with current basic connectivity needs. For a pair of entry-level phones, the shared specification set keeps the focus on practical use rather than aggressive differentiation.

Display and durability are identical across both models

Each phone features a 6.6-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,604 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 120Hz touch sampling rate, 264ppi pixel density, and peak brightness of up to 1,050 nits in HBM mode.

The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. That combination of a high refresh rate and added protection gives the series a stronger value proposition in the affordable segment.

Memory and storage options vary by model

Motorola keeps the base Moto G37 simple with a single configuration: 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It uses LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, and it is priced at Rs. 13,999 in India.

The Moto G37 Power is offered in 4GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB variants. The 4GB model costs Rs. 15,999, while the 8GB version is priced at Rs. 18,999.

Both phones support RAM Boost, which can expand RAM up to 12GB. Storage can also be increased up to 1TB through a microSD card.

Camera setup stays focused on the basics

The rear camera arrangement is intentionally straightforward. Both phones use a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF support.

Rather than adding a complex multi-camera layout, Motorola uses a 2-in-1 light sensor system that includes an ambient light sensor and a flicker detector. On the front, both phones carry an 8-megapixel selfie camera for video calls and self-portraits.

Connectivity, build, and launch details

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and BeiDou. The phones also retain a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port.

Security comes from a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, while the body carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. Both devices are also certified to MIL-STD-810H, adding a more rugged character to the lineup.

Moto G37 is available in Pantone Capri and Pantone Impenetrable. Moto G37 Power comes in those two colors as well, plus Pantone Nautical Blue.

In India, sales begin on 25 May through Flipkart, Motorola India’s website, and retail stores across the country. Motorola is also offering an instant Rs. 5,000 discount for purchases made with IDFC, ICICI, and SBI credit cards, along with an instant Rs. 5,500 discount for EMI transactions using an IDFC Bank credit card.

Physically, the Moto G37 measures 166.23 x 76.50 x 7.85 mm and weighs 191 grams. The Moto G37 Power is thicker and heavier at 166.23 x 76.50 x 8.89 mm and 215 grams, which matches its much larger battery.
