Huawei has begun selling the Nova 16 series in China, and the lineup is drawing attention for how much hardware it packs across every tier. The most eye-catching combination sits at the top: a 200MP camera and a 7,000mAh battery, but even the entry model follows the same battery strategy.
The series includes the Huawei Nova 16, Nova 16 Pro, and Nova 16 Ultra. All three run on the Kirin 9010S chipset and ship with HarmonyOS 6.1 out of the box, giving the family a shared foundation before Huawei separates them with display, camera, and charging features.
Battery life and charging stay consistent across the range
Huawei has made endurance one of the main selling points of the Nova 16 lineup. Each of the three models comes with a 7,000mAh battery, which is a rare figure for a series positioned between the midrange and premium segments.
Fast charging is also uniform on the standard trio, with all three supporting 100W wired SuperCharge. The Nova 16 Ultra goes further by adding 50W wireless charging and 7.5W wireless reverse charging, making it the most complete option for users who want more flexibility in daily use.
Camera hardware is where the lineup starts to separate
The clearest differences appear on the back. The standard Nova 16 uses a 50MP main camera paired with a 50MP RYYB periscope telephoto lens, while the Nova 16 Pro and Nova 16 Ultra move up to a 200MP RYYB main camera with image stabilization.
Those two higher-end models also add a 50MP telephoto camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Huawei further equips the Pro and Ultra versions with a Red Maple color sensor, which is used to support color processing in photos.
Display choices reflect each model’s position
The base Nova 16 uses a 120Hz display protected by aluminosilicate glass. That keeps the most affordable model focused on smooth everyday performance without stepping into the more advanced panel technology used above it.
The Nova 16 Pro and Nova 16 Ultra adopt LTPO displays with an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. This setup is designed to balance fluid motion with better power efficiency, matching their higher placement in the lineup.
Pricing starts at 2,999 yuan
Huawei positioned the Nova 16 as the entry point in the series, with the 12GB + 256GB version priced at 2,999 yuan. A 12GB + 512GB variant is also available for 3,499 yuan.
The Nova 16 Pro begins at 3,899 yuan and comes in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. Its highest listed configuration reaches 4,999 yuan, placing it clearly above the standard model.
At the top of the range sits the Nova 16 Ultra, starting at 4,699 yuan. The 12GB + 1TB version is priced at 5,799 yuan, making it the most expensive and most fully equipped model in the series.
Satellite features extend the lineup’s utility
Huawei has also included Beidou satellite messaging across all three models. The Nova 16 Ultra adds Tiantong satellite communication, which broadens connectivity when conventional networks are unavailable.
With the same chip and operating system across the series, Huawei is relying on battery capacity, camera hardware, display technology, and satellite support to create clear separation between the models. That approach leaves the Nova 16 as the most accessible option, while the Nova 16 Ultra serves as the most feature-rich version in the lineup.
