Caitlin Clark will not compete in the WNBA 3-Point Contest during All-Star Weekend, removing the league’s most prominent long-range shooter from a nationally televised event. The Indiana Fever guard was invited but declined, according to ESPN.
Clark’s absence is especially notable because the contest will feature “From the Logo” shots, a format closely associated with the deep-range shooting that has helped make her one of the sport’s biggest attractions. She has not yet taken part in the WNBA’s 3-point competition during her three-year career.
Sabrina Ionescu and Kayla McBride also declined invitations to the event. The WNBA announced a six-player field that includes several of the league’s most productive 3-point shooters.

Howard, Mabrey, Fudd, Carleton, Hiedeman and Salaün are scheduled to compete Friday night at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. Fudd entered the league as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
The group brings substantial shooting credentials, but it does not include several players with major fan followings or strong voting results. Paige Bueckers, the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft, also is absent despite leading all players with 1,045,051 fan votes for the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game.
Other Notable Absences
Clark’s Fever teammates Kelsey Mitchell and Sophie Cunningham are not in the announced field. It is unclear whether either player was invited and declined or was not selected.
Mitchell finished third among guards in the fan portion of All-Star voting and ninth overall with 665,377 votes. She was shooting 42% from 3-point range this season.
Cunningham ranked 15th overall in fan voting with 386,451 votes and was shooting 44% from deep. She also has more than 3.2 million TikTok followers and 2.6 million Instagram followers, giving the event another potential mainstream draw it will not have.
According to www.foxnews.com, Clark declined the 2024 WNBA 3-Point Contest and was expected to compete in 2025 before withdrawing because of an injury. Her reported decision to pass again leaves the league without a player whose games have regularly driven increased attendance, television audiences and social-media attention.
The contest’s “From the Logo” addition puts extra focus on the kind of extended-range shot Clark is known for. Without Clark, Ionescu, Bueckers, Mitchell or Cunningham, the event will rely on its six selected shooters to carry the spotlight during All-Star Weekend.
