Motorola Raises Eight Phones In India, Budget Buyers Feel The Sharpest Impact

Motorola’s latest price move in India is reshaping the value equation across both budget and mid-range phones. Eight models have quietly become more expensive, with the sharpest increase reaching Rs 7,000.

The change affects more than just one family of devices. It reaches into the Moto G lineup, which is usually the most price-sensitive part of Motorola’s portfolio, and also extends to several Edge models.

Moto G models take the biggest hit

Most of the affected phones come from the Moto G series, and the price jumps are especially noticeable in the higher-memory variants. Moto g37 Power 8 GB + 128 GB has risen from Rs 18,999 to Rs 25,999, while the 4 GB + 64 GB version has moved from Rs 13,999 to Rs 18,999.

Other Moto G models have also gone up. Moto g37 Power 4 GB + 128 GB is now Rs 19,999, up from Rs 15,999, and Moto g06 Power 4 GB + 64 GB has increased from Rs 12,999 to Rs 15,999.

The adjustments do not stop there. Moto g57 Power 8 GB + 128 GB has climbed from Rs 19,999 to Rs 21,999, while Moto g67 Power has seen changes in two configurations.

For Moto g67 Power, the 8 GB + 128 GB variant has moved from Rs 20,999 to Rs 22,999. The 12 GB + 256 GB version has seen a steeper jump, rising from Rs 22,999 to Rs 27,999.

Edge series also moves upward

Motorola has not limited the revision to its lower-priced phones. The Edge lineup has also been pushed higher, including models that sit closer to the upper end of the company’s range.

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion 12 GB + 256 GB now costs Rs 29,999, up from Rs 26,999. Motorola Edge 70 Pro has also been adjusted, though the increase is smaller than some of the other models.

On Edge 70 Pro, the 8 GB + 256 GB variant has gone from Rs 38,999 to Rs 39,999. The 12 GB + 256 GB version has increased from Rs 41,999 to Rs 42,999.

The widest change within the Edge family appears on Edge 70 Fusion. Its 8 GB + 128 GB model has risen from Rs 26,999 to Rs 30,999, while the 8 GB + 256 GB version is now Rs 32,999, up from Rs 29,999.

Higher-capacity versions of the same phone have also moved. Edge 70 Fusion 12 GB + 256 GB has increased from Rs 32,999 to Rs 34,999, and the 12 GB + 512 GB variant has climbed from Rs 35,999 to Rs 38,999.

What may be behind the change

Motorola has not issued an official explanation for the price revision. Even so, the move comes as India’s smartphone market faces a broader wave of pricing changes.

One factor often linked to the trend is the continuing memory or RAM shortage. That pressure is being felt across multiple segments, from entry-level phones to flagships, and Motorola is not the only brand making adjustments.

Nothing Phone (4a) series has reportedly seen a price increase as well. OnePlus Nord 6 has also been reported to go up for a second time.

For buyers, the immediate impact is simple: phones that once sat at one price point are now crossing into another. In a market where every few thousand rupees can change a purchase decision, these revisions may force shoppers to compare models and memory variants more carefully before buying.
