Vivo X500 Could Shake Up Flagships, Dimensity 9500 and 7,500mAh Battery Rumored

Vivo X500 is drawing early attention because the latest leaks point to a rare combination for a compact flagship. A 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 and a battery of around 7,500mAh would place it in a very unusual position among premium phones.

That mix matters because many flagships still rely on larger bodies to fit bigger batteries, while the X500 is said to keep a relatively compact form factor. If the current testing details hold, Vivo could be preparing a device that stands out on endurance without giving up the premium feel.

Compact size, flagship ambitions

Leaked engineering sample information suggests that Vivo is testing the standard model in the X500 lineup. The device is said to use a flat 6.59-inch display, which places it in the compact-to-mid flagship category rather than the oversized class that dominates today’s premium segment.

Digital Chat Station, a tipster with a strong track record in early smartphone leaks, is the source behind the latest details. Vivo has not confirmed the phone publicly, so the current picture remains based on development-stage testing.

Dimensity 9500 sits at the center

The headline hardware is the reported choice of MediaTek Dimensity 9500. Built on a 3nm process, the chip is designed to balance high performance with better power efficiency.

That combination should matter for gaming, AI processing, and everyday multitasking if the final device keeps this configuration. It also suggests Vivo is positioning the X500 standard model as a true flagship rather than a pared-down entry in the series.

Earlier leaks have hinted that the Pro and Pro Max versions may move to an even higher-generation chipset. If that happens, the X500 family would follow a tiered strategy that separates the standard model from its more premium siblings.

The battery is the biggest surprise

The battery claim is what makes the X500 especially notable. Testing is said to be focused on a capacity of around 7,500mAh, a figure well above the 5,000mAh to 6,500mAh range common in many current flagships.

Such a capacity would significantly extend daily usage, especially for users who rely heavily on video, games, and mobile productivity. It also aligns with the broader shift toward silicon-carbon battery technology, which is becoming more common in Chinese smartphones.

That technology allows brands to increase capacity without making devices noticeably thicker. In practice, it gives manufacturers more room to improve battery life while preserving a slimmer design.

Camera hardware still points to premium positioning

Photography also appears to remain a priority. The X500 is said to feature a 50MP main sensor with a size of around 1/1.28 inches, which should help with light capture in darker scenes.

Another key detail is the expected periscope telephoto camera for long-range optical zoom. Some reports mention a 64MP sensor for that module, matching the camera hardware also being tested on the Vivo X500 Pro.

The final camera setup could still change before launch, but the direction is clear enough. Vivo still seems committed to making the X series a photography-focused flagship line.

Launch timing and market relevance

Vivo has not announced an official release schedule for the X500 Series. Even so, the phone is widely believed to be moving through certification and internal testing ahead of a China debut in the second half of 2026.

The model also matters beyond China because Vivo has consistently brought its X lineup to Indonesia. The company has already sold the Vivo X100, Vivo X100 Pro, Vivo X Fold3 Pro, and Vivo X200 Series in the local market.

That history makes the X500 a likely candidate for wider regional attention if Vivo decides to keep the same premium rollout pattern. With ZEISS still closely associated with the X series, the new model could extend that imaging focus while adding battery endurance that many rivals will find difficult to ignore.
