Google has delivered an unusual surprise for its smartwatch line. Wear OS 7 is now expected to arrive earlier than many had predicted, and the update appears set to reach Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Watch 4 first.
The clearest sign comes from Verizon, which briefly published a changelog showing June 9, 2026 as the rollout date for those three models. That timeline is earlier than Google’s previous guidance, which only said the update would land sometime “later this year.”
Pixel Watch 1 is left behind
The most notable part of the rollout list is the absence of the original Pixel Watch. The 2022 model is still part of the same ecosystem, but it does not appear to be included in the Wear OS 7 wave.
That detail makes the update feel even more significant for owners of newer devices. Instead of a broad family-wide upgrade, Google seems to be prioritizing the latest Pixel Watch generations first.
Android-style widgets take center stage
Wear OS 7’s biggest visual change is the shift from full-screen tiles to widgets that behave much more like Android widgets on phones. The design move is meant to make the watch interface feel more familiar and easier to use.
For developers, the transition is also expected to be simpler. Existing Android widgets can reportedly be adapted to Wear OS more quickly, which could help the platform expand its widget ecosystem at a faster pace.
If that adoption happens smoothly, users may see a wider variety of watch widgets in less time. That would make the platform feel less limited and more flexible in everyday use.
Battery life and fitness tools get refinements
Google also says Wear OS 7 should improve battery life by around 10 percent. The figure is modest, but on a compact device such as a smartwatch, even a small gain can matter during daily wear.
The fitness side is getting cleaner as well, with Google standardizing the interface for workout apps. Heart-rate readings and music playback controls can now be accessed by third-party apps through a more consistent layout.
That consistency should make fitness tracking feel less fragmented across different apps. Wear OS 7 also adds the ability to stream music to multiple headphones using Google Cast or Bluetooth.
Watch face creators also benefit
Watch face developers are part of the update story too. Google has optimized the platform to reduce the workload involved in building new watch faces, which should make the process more efficient.
In the market, Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Watch 4 are currently listed at around Rp4.9 million on Amazon. With those models in the first update group, Google appears to be pushing its newest smartwatch experience to the devices most likely to showcase it best.
There is still no official confirmation for Indonesia on when Wear OS 7 will arrive. In previous Pixel Watch rollouts, however, the update has typically followed the global release within a few weeks.
For now, Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Watch 4 owners in Indonesia are waiting for the update notification to appear on their devices. If the leaked schedule holds, the most immediate change they will notice is Android widgets on the wrist.
