Motorola has quietly added another attention-grabbing phone to its lineup in Brazil, and the Moto G Max stands out for two reasons at once. It pairs a 200 MP main camera with a body built for tougher conditions, a combination that is still rare in this segment.
The device also appears to be a familiar name under a different label. Its specifications are reported to closely match the Moto G87, which launched earlier, leading to the view that Motorola may be using a rebrand strategy for the Latin American market.
Display That Prioritizes Size and Visibility
On the front, the Moto G Max uses a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution. It also supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling and animations feel smoother in daily use and gaming.
Motorola says the panel can reach a peak brightness of 5,000 nits. That level of brightness is intended to keep the screen readable even under direct sunlight.
Performance Centered on MediaTek
Inside, the phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset. Motorola pairs it with up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage to handle multitasking and file storage.
The setup places the Moto G Max in a practical midrange position, with enough capacity for regular use without moving into premium pricing territory.
A 200 MP Camera Leads the Hardware
The main camera is the headline feature, with a 200 MP sensor and optical image stabilization. OIS should help keep photos and videos steadier when hands are not completely still.
Motorola also includes an 8 MP ultrawide camera on the rear. For selfies, the phone offers a 32 MP front camera, giving it a more capable front-facing setup than many rivals in its class.
Battery, Sound, and Durability
The Moto G Max carries a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 33W wired fast charging. Motorola also adds stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos to round out the media experience.
Durability is another major part of the pitch. The phone carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 certification, and it also passes the MIL-STD-810H military durability standard.
Pricing and Availability
For security, Motorola places the fingerprint sensor under the display. This keeps the front design clean while still allowing quick biometric access.
According to Motorola Brazil’s official site, the Moto G Max is priced at 2,519 Real Brasil. That figure is roughly equivalent to about Rp8.8 million, based on a simple conversion estimate.
Motorola has not confirmed whether the Moto G Max will be released in other markets, including Asia. For now, the phone remains a Brazil-only offering with a strong mix of a 200 MP camera, a bright AMOLED display, and rugged certification.
