Three villages in Amen District have not yet started physical development work, even though the Village Fund has already been disbursed. The delay has drawn attention because most of the other villages in the district have already moved into the pre-implementation stage.
The villages still without physical activity are Sungai Gerong, Garut, and Nangai Tayau. Out of nine villages in Amen District, those three remain the only ones that have not launched construction-related work so far.
Close monitoring from the subdistrict office
Amen Subdistrict Secretary Desti Syarika Nova, speaking on behalf of Amen Subdistrict Head Indra Istiawan, said the subdistrict office is closely monitoring all villages. The goal is to push faster execution so local programs do not fall behind the budget timetable.
According to Desti, six other villages have already reached the pre-implementation stage. Those villages are Selebar Jaya, Suka Margo, Paya Embik, Talang Bunut, and Sukau Rajo.
The subdistrict government wants the three lagging villages to take immediate action now that the Village Fund has been transferred. Officials say there is little room left to delay work because implementation time continues to shrink.
Why the pace matters
Desti emphasized that villages cannot wait too long before beginning physical projects. She said faster movement is needed so construction can start as soon as funding is available.
The monitoring effort is also meant to ensure that every village in Amen follows its own implementation stage on time. Officials are trying to avoid a situation where too many projects pile up at the end of the budget period.
At the same time, the progress made by six villages shows that development in Amen is underway. Even so, the three villages that have not started any physical work remain a concern for the subdistrict office.
The district administration is now expecting village governments to respond more quickly. That response is seen as important so planned development programs do not lose momentum after the Village Fund has entered village accounts.
