Vivo X300 Ultra Pushes Back at iPhone, 4K 120fps Log Lands on Every Rear Lens

Vivo is making an unusually direct move against the iPhone’s long-held reputation in mobile video. With the X300 Ultra, the company is not only chasing high-end photography, but also targeting the part of the smartphone market that matters most to professional creators.

The headline feature is support for 4K 120fps Log recording across all rear lenses. That means creators are not limited to one main camera when they want cinematic slow motion and more flexible color work in post-production.

A stronger tool for mobile creators

For video editors, Log capture at a high frame rate opens more room for grading and refinement. It also gives more freedom when projects require precise motion detail and wider creative control after shooting.

Vivo says the feature is available on three rear cameras, not just the primary sensor. As a result, the same video workflow can be used from ultra-wide to telephoto, while keeping color behavior more consistent.

Another key element is the APV 422 codec. Developed by Samsung, the format is described as lossless and about 20% more storage-efficient than HEVC or H.265.

That matters because 10-bit Log video files are usually large. Lower storage use can make file management and color grading easier without sacrificing quality.

Built for a professional workflow

The X300 Ultra is also said to support the ACES workflow, a standard used to align color across cinema cameras. For serious production work, that adds another layer of consistency when footage is moved between devices and editing systems.

Vivo has also added real-time 3D LUT preview during recording. That feature helps creators monitor the final look more quickly before footage reaches the editing stage.

Under the hood, the phone runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and the Pro Imaging Chip VS1+. The hardware pairing is intended to handle the heavier load of high-resolution video recording over longer sessions.

Large cameras, large battery

The camera system itself is built aggressively for a flagship device. The main 35mm camera uses a 200MP Sony LYTIA-901 sensor with a 1/1.12-inch size and CIPA 6.5 stabilization.

For zoom, Vivo includes a 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto 85mm camera with a Samsung ISOCELL HP0 sensor sized at 1/1.4 inches and CIPA 7.0 stabilization. The ultra-wide camera uses a 14mm lens with a 50MP Sony LYTIA-818 sensor and a 1/1.28-inch size.

The battery is equally ambitious. The X300 Ultra packs a 6600mAh BlueVolt battery with 100W FlashCharge, while a Liquid Cooling Vapor Chamber is included to help keep temperatures stable during long recording sessions.

Display and early pre-order details

On the front, the device features a 6.82-inch LTPO 2K 144Hz ZEISS Master Color Display. The panel matches the phone’s broader focus on visual quality, both for capture and for reviewing footage.

Vivo opened an Early Pre-Order window from 4-11 May 2026 with a Rp2.000.000 deposit on e-Store. The company says the total benefit reaches Rp6.000.000, including a 12-month screen warranty and an additional 12-month official warranty.

With 4K 120fps Log, APV 422, ACES support, and three high-resolution rear cameras, the Vivo X300 Ultra is being positioned as a serious challenge to mobile video leaders. For the premium market, it is a clear signal that Vivo wants a much bigger share of the conversation around smartphone videography.
