CHUWI UniBook AI Packs 13-Hour Battery and Dual 4K Output Into a $449 Laptop

CHUWI is pushing the UniBook AI into the market as a low-cost Windows laptop that does not look modest on paper. With a pre-order price of $449, the device aims to make AI-focused computing more accessible without moving into flagship territory.

The laptop’s most notable pitch is not only its price, but the way CHUWI has balanced mobility, battery life, and display expansion. It is built for everyday work, study, and productivity, while also carrying features that are usually more common on pricier machines.

AI Processing on the Device

At the center of the UniBook AI is Intel’s Core 3 Processor 304 from the Wildcat Lake platform. The system also runs Windows 11 Pro, positioning it as a ready-to-use machine for office tasks, remote learning, and general daily use.

For AI workloads, CHUWI says the Intel Graphics deliver up to 9 TOPS in Int8 performance, while a dedicated NPU provides up to 15 TOPS in Int8 for specific on-device AI tasks. That setup is designed to keep more processing local rather than sending everything to the cloud.

The benefit is straightforward: faster response in suitable tasks and more data staying on the laptop itself. CHUWI says the machine supports AI writing assistance, real-time transcription, AI image generation, and AI-enhanced multitasking.

Portable Build, Bright 16:10 Display

The UniBook AI uses a 14-inch IPS panel with a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution. Its 16:10 aspect ratio gives users more vertical space than a standard Full HD screen, which is useful for documents, spreadsheets, and web browsing.

CHUWI also lists 100% sRGB coverage, 300 nits of brightness, and an 88% screen-to-body ratio. The laptop’s metal body weighs about 1.2 kg and measures 314.5 x 221 x 16.4 mm, making it easy to carry for commuting or travel.

The 180-degree hinge adds practical flexibility for shared viewing in meetings or presentations. A backlit keyboard, precision touchpad, and HD webcam with a physical privacy cover round out the input and privacy features.

Battery, Charging, and Connectivity

Battery life is one of the strongest claims here. CHUWI says the 53.38Wh battery can deliver up to 13 hours of local 1080p video playback under suitable conditions.

Charging is handled through 65W USB-C Power Delivery, so users can top up the laptop with a modern USB-C charger instead of relying on a special adapter. That keeps the travel setup simpler for students and workers who move between locations.

Connectivity is unusually generous for a thin laptop at this price. The UniBook AI includes two full-featured USB-C ports, three USB-A ports, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, a TF card slot, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Wireless support covers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. CHUWI says the laptop can also drive up to two external 4K displays at 60Hz, which gives it a clear multitasking advantage for office work and light editing.

Memory, Storage, and Market Position

Inside, the UniBook AI comes with 8GB of LPDDR5 memory running at 6400 MT/s and a 256GB PCIe 3.0 SSD. CHUWI says the storage can still be expanded, which adds some flexibility for users who need more room later.

That hardware mix makes the machine more relevant to students, freelancers, office users, and general consumers than to heavy performance users. It is the kind of laptop that tries to stretch value by combining AI features, a sharp 16:10 screen, long battery life, and a practical port selection in one affordable package.

CHUWI is promoting the pre-order campaign under the slogan “AI for Everyone, The Tournament for All.” During the same campaign period, the company is also offering discounts of up to $50 on other products, including the CoreBook Air 226V, AuBox X Copilot+ PCs, Hi10 Max 2-in-1 Windows Tablet, and CoreBook Air 1KG.
