A Foldable With 200 MP and 7,000 mAh, Vivo X Fold6 Pushes Premium Expectations

Author: Qoo Media

Vivo X Fold6 enters the premium foldable segment with a combination that is still uncommon in this class: a 200 MP Zeiss main camera and a 7,000 mAh battery. That pairing puts the device in a different conversation from many other foldables, which often trade battery size and camera ambition for thinner hardware.

The model is already on sale in China, with pre-orders open and first sales starting on 1 July. Vivo has not announced any global rollout or Indonesia launch schedule so far.

Large battery, fast charging, and wireless support

The 7,000 mAh battery is one of the most notable features of the Vivo X Fold6, especially for a foldable phone. Vivo says the cell uses fifth-generation silicon anode technology and a third-generation semi-solid-state battery structure.

Charging support includes 80W FlashCharge and 40W wireless charging. The phone also supports reverse wireless charging, allowing it to power other devices without cables.

Camera setup built around Zeiss optics

On the imaging side, Vivo uses a Samsung HPB 200 MP main sensor with a 1/1.4-inch size, an f/1.68 aperture, OIS, and Zeiss T* coating. The rear setup is completed by a 50 MP ultrawide camera and a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera based on the Sony LYT602 sensor.

The telephoto unit offers 3x optical zoom and teleconverter support up to a 200 mm equivalent. Vivo also adds its V3+ imaging chip, while Zeiss remains a key part of the phone’s camera identity.

For selfies and video calls, the device carries 20 MP front cameras on both the main display and the cover screen. That gives users the same basic camera access whether the phone is opened or closed.

Big screens for work and entertainment

Inside, the X Fold6 uses an 8.02-inch Samsung M14 LTPO AMOLED panel with a 2K+ resolution of 2504 x 2312 pixels. The display supports adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz, along with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

Vivo says the main screen can reach 5,000 nits of brightness and is protected by UTG Glass. On the outside, the phone carries a 6.51-inch BOE LTPO AMOLED cover display with a 2528 x 1120 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision support.

Both panels carry TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification. Vivo also includes a low-light mode that goes down to 1 nit, which is meant to reduce eye fatigue in darker environments.

Android 16-based software and multitasking tools

Software duties are handled by OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. Vivo adds Atomic Workbench, a feature that allows multiple apps to run at the same time for better foldable productivity.

The feature set is designed to make the larger display more useful for split tasks, rather than just serving as a larger version of a regular smartphone interface.

3 nm chipset and generous memory options

Performance comes from the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, built on a 3 nm process and paired with the Arm Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 GPU. Vivo offers 12 GB and 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM options, plus 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage variants.

The device also includes Vivo’s own communication chipset setup, made up of one global signal amplifier and four Wi-Fi chips to help stabilize connectivity. Wireless and network support covers 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, dual-band GPS, and USB Type-C.

Durability, size, and color options

Vivo gives the X Fold6 IP5X dust resistance and IPX8 plus IPX9 water resistance. The company also claims the phone can still operate at temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius.

When opened, the phone measures 157.16 x 145.66 x 4.4 mm. Folded, it measures 9.4 mm thick and 74.26 mm wide.

Weight varies by color. Polar Night and Salt Lake versions weigh 228 grams, while the Blue Hole version weighs 235 grams.

The color choices are Blue Hole, Salt Lake, and Polar Night, and Vivo also offers a Professional Imaging Kit for select variants.

Prices in China

Vivo is selling the X Fold6 in six configurations in China, with pricing starting at 7,999 yuan.
